WONDERS OF GOD’S KINGDOM

“Again, the KINGDOM of heaven is like TREASURE hidden in a field…” – Mathew 13:44a

GOD’S WORD reveals the WONDERS of HIS KINGDOM: “Again, the KINGDOM of heaven is like TREASURE hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it goes and sells all that he has and buys that field” (Mt.13:44). The Kingdom of God – also called the Kingdom of Heaven – is the subject of several parables of our Lord Jesus Christ – the King of the Kingdom. He wants every Kingdom citizen to know discover the Wonders – Precious Treasures and Pearls – therein. It’s a Kingdom of Mysteries and Discoveries!

God’s Kingdom central to the Lord’s Pattern Prayer: “...Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your Name. YOUR KINGDOM COME, Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Mt.6:9-10). These are powerful words for Believers of all generations to pray until God’s Kingdom Comes! They are the “Proclamation of Dominion” that must become divine decrees on our lips and be shown by our lives.

The word “kingdom” comprises two words: “king” and “dom-inion”. Kingdom is “the King’s dominion” or Dominion of the King. Every king has a domain or territory under his rule or authority. Here are Ten Salient “Wonders” of God’s Kingdom:

The King is “Our Father Who is in heaven…” (Mt.6:9). He is Three Persons in One: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Isaiah 9:6-7a describe Him as: “WONDERFUL, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end…” His Government is ever-increasing; His Dominion an Endless Dominion!

God’s Kingdom is Powerful and Eternal: “How great are His signs, and how mighty His wonders! Hi Kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation” (Dan.4:3). These were the words of a heathen king, Nebuchadnezzar.

God’s Kingdom is a Kingdom of kings and priests. Jesus Christ is “the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS” (1Tim.6:15; Rev.19:16). Every citizen has a significant place, purpose, and function to fulfil (Rev.1:6) No one is worthless or useless.

Kingdom Citizenship is through the New Birth in Christ: “…Unless one is born again, he cannot SEE the KINGDOM of GOD... he cannot ENTER into the KINGDOM of GOD” (Jh.3:3,5). No one can see or enter into God’s Kingdom, except as he or she is born-again by the power of the Holy Spirit.

God wants Believers to “see” and “enter” into the Kingdom: How much of the kingdom we “see” determines how far into it we “enter”! Kingdom perceived is kingdom possessed! Kingdom discovered is kingdom demonstrated!

God’s Kingdom is a Kingdom of Power: “For the Kingdom of God is not in word but in POWER” (1Cor.4:20). Every born-again person was conceived in power, and must remain connected to the Power-Source – the Holy Spirit (Jh.1:12; Act 1:8). Even the King Himself was conceived in power when He was born on earth as a Man. The angel Gabriel said to Mary: “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the POWER OF THE HIGHEST will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God” (Lk.1:35).

God’s Kingdom is to come on earth as it is in heaven (Mt.6:10). His Dominion, Will, Counsel, Plans and Purposes are to “be done on earth” as they are in heaven: Total, Absolute, Sovereign. Heaven is devoid of disorder, discord, disharmony, conflict, chaos, or confusion.

God’s Kingdom is indestructible, set up by Heaven, on earth. It cannot be subject to earthly or hellish powers. Orders come from above. The citizens’ security is guaranteed. We have divine immunity against all the onslaughts of the enemy. It is an all-conquering (Mt.16:18).

God’s Kingdom on Earth begins within our Hearts. Our Lord Jesus said: “For indeed, the Kingdom of God is within you” (Lk.17:21). Paul revealed: “For the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Rom.14:17).

God’ Kingdom is Universal. His Agenda is Global (Mt.28:18-20; Mk.16:15). The whole world is our Father’s domain – and ours too! We may start local but envision and go Global!
