Bible Meditation:
Psalm 119: 25-40

"Make me understand the way of Your precepts; so shall I meditate on Your WONDERFUL works”  Psalm 119:27

There are many other vital dimensions of the WONDERS OF GOD’S WORD that we need to understand: "Make me understand the way of Your precepts; so shall I meditate on Your WONDERFUL works” (Psa.119:27). The wonderful testimonies of God’s Word have been echoed by multitudes through the centuries. The more deeply we search it, the more we know that the Bible is not merely a book, but The Book.

Sir Walter Scott in his dying hour was right when he asked his son-in-law to read to him out of the Book, and in answer to the question, "What Book?" replied "There is only one Book, the Bible. In the whole world it is called 'The Book.'" Yes. It alone is the universal Book, the eternal Book, the Book for all time. The Bible is "the Book" of all books. It is the Book that stands alone; unapproachable in grandeur; solitary in splendour; mysterious in ascendancy; as high above all other books as heaven above earth, as the Son of God above the sons of men.

God’s Word is wonderful in its Design. The Bible is multifunctional, declaring itself to be many things and to have many uses. The Bible in my hand is:

The two-edged Sword of the Spirit: “For the WORD of GOD is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edges sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Heb.4:12; Eph.6:17).

A Fire that refines and Hammer that breaks the resistance of the heart: “But HIS WORD was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and I could not” (Jer.20:9b); “Is not MY WORD like a fire?” says the Lord, “And like a HAMMER that breaks the rock in pieces?” (Jer.23:29).

A Mirror reflecting the true picture of Man: “For if anyone is a hearer of the WORD and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a MIRROR; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the Perfect Law of LIBERTY and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does” (Jam.1:23-25).

An Illuminating Lamp: “YOUR WORD is a LAMP to my feet and a LIGHT to my path” (Psa.119:105).

Here are Seven descriptions that summarize some of the Wonders of the Bible we’ve considered earlier: The Bible is:

A Supernatural Book, divinely inspired by God. Within the Scriptures are prayers, praises, fears, and frustrations of the men who wrote them. The Bible is marked by their personalities, yet God, in and through these personalities, was the One who was speaking.

A Spiritual Book, written by the Holy Spirit. We may have access to the Word of God, but until the Holy Spirit convicts or illumines us, it’ll not be real in our hearts.

The Saviour’s Book: Jesus is the Hero of the Bible. When we read it, we’ll find Jesus Christ somewhere, somehow standing in the shadows or presented in plain view.

A Sovereign Book: It is the supreme authority in all of life’s matters. God and His Word are the same – True, powerful, and authoritative.

A Surviving Book. In a world that is ever-changing, God’s Word stays the same.

A Sustaining Book: It not only survives but also enables us to survive. As we are physically sustained by physical nutrition, we are spiritually sustained by the Word of God. We always find help, comfort, and wisdom in the Bible.

A Supercharged Book, with incredible power. It’s able to penetrate and scrutinize the innermost part of our personalities. We can stand in awe as we experience its power in our lives, changing us from the inside out, as we hear, read, study, meditate in, and obey the Word.

Prayer:
Lord, help us to discover the WONDERS of YOUR WORD – the Bible, as the eternal Book, Book of all times, and Book of all books, in Jesus’ name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
