Bible Meditation:
Psalm 136: 1-9

To Him who alone does great WONDERS, for HIS MERCY endures forever” – Psalm 136:4

GOD’S WORD is abundant in the WONDERS of HIS MERCY: To Him who alone does great WONDERS, for HIS MERCY endures forever” (Psa.136:4). Each of the 26 verses of Psalm 136 repeats the affirmation, His mercy endures forever.” The psalm invites God’s people to praise Him for His Power and Wonders, many of which are as expressions of His great Mercy, especially as Creator (vv.5-9). Mercy is the real and tangible expression and outworking of God’s Love; the unlimited capability within the divine nature, for God to be actively compassionate. It is the wonderful attribute by which God wills and achieves the deliverance of the oppressed out of misery into blessings.

God acts in Mercy to deliver His people, bringing us into spheres of Joy, Comfort, and Fulfilment. However, the Wonders of Mercy are most pronounced for the "messed-up" who admit the errors of their ways; not the self-righteous person who refuses to repent!

Here are some other Wonders of Divine Mercy:

God is rich in Mercy (Eph.2:4-5). His unfailing Mercy – Love in action – holds back from us the worst that we really deserved, and along with grace, gives us the best we do not deserve. The God of Love is also “the Father of Mercies and the God of all comfort” (2Cor.1:3b).

Salvation is a Gift of Mercy. Believers in Christ Jesus are born again by Mercy, for a living hope: “His abundant MERCY has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Pet. 1:3b).

God never removes His Mercy from His children: “Blessed be God, Who has not turned away my prayer, nor HIS MERCY from me! (Psa.66:20). Mercy is not a temporary mood with God, but His eternal Character and Disposition. His Mercy is Unfailing: Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not, they are new every morning: Great is Your faithfulness” (Lam.3:21-22).

Mercy commands Favour and makes one to be preferred above others of similar or even better qualities and abilities. David was anointed as king among his brethren, and all were made to remain standing until he was brought from the bush (1 Sam.16: 6-13).

Mercy can divinely connect with destiny helpers that’ll be instrumental to one’s breakthroughs and liftings in life. By mercy, Naaman was linked with the Prophet in Israel though the slave girl in his house and he was recovered of his leprosy (2Kgs.5:1-5).

Mercy can single one out of the crowd for divine recognition, attention, and blessings. Blind Bartimaeus, the woman with the issue of blood, the lame man by the beautiful gate, and Zacchaeus, all encountered Mercy and received special miracles from among multitudes.

Mercy breaks satanic hindrances, generational barriers, and limitations, and suspends protocols and traditions for His blessings to reach a person and His Purpose to be accomplished. By Mercy, Mary conceived without knowing a man while protocols were suspended for Esther.

Mercy secures our all-round victory over the enemy, and protects us from all forms of evil (Isa.54:17). Jehoshaphat overcame the enemies gathered to attack and had peace all round (2 Chr.20:1-12).

Mercy can overturn evil plans for our blessings. God used all the wicked machinations of Joseph’s brothers for his promotion, and at the end they came to bow for him (Gen.45: 4-8). Mercy can make us to succeed where others failed, and to recover losses and wasted years.

Mercy prevails over deserved judgement (Jam.2:13). There are wrong doings in our lives that should attract God’s wrath. But when He sees repentance through godly sorrow, His mercy will save from the judgment, silencing the voice of the accuser over our lives (Rom.8: 1-2).

God delights in and rewards those who hope in His Mercy: The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His MERCY” (Psa.147:11). Ours is a Living Hope because His Mercy is unceasing and timeless: Surely goodness and MERCY shall follow me all the days of my life” (Psa.23:6a). As we manifest living hope in God, may He never turn His Mercy away from us, in Jesus’ name!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
