ZION

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels – Hebrews 12:22

ZION is the place of deliverance, holiness, and possessing of our possessions (Obad.17). Every believer is a potential Citizen of Zion! The extent to which you appropriate your citizenship is the extent to which you possess your possessions in Christ. Here are Ten Marvelous Mysteries of Zion:

• Zion is the Habitation of God: “For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place:  “This is My resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it. I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her poor with bread. I will also clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints shall shout aloud for joy” (Psa.132:13-16).

• Every citizen is a king and priest: “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people” and “has made us kings and priests to God and His Father…” (1Pet.2:9a; Rev.1:6). Every citizen of Zion is great and honorable: “And of Zion it will be said, “This one and that one were born in her; and the Most High Himself shall establish her.” The Lord will record, When He registers the peoples: “This one was born there.” (Psa.87:5,6; 89:7). In Zion, mourning or groaning in sorrow shall never be your portion (Job 22:29; 24:12).

• Zion is the assembly of the saints: a City of Praise, where everyone is a ‘Very Important Person’: “God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be held in reverence by all those around Him” (Psa.89:7). In Zion, your life is hidden in Christ. To despise yourself is to despise your God (Psa.49:20; Eccle.9:14).

• In Zion, the flavour of Favour is guaranteed: “You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come” (Psa.102:13).

• Zion is full of Beauty: “Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God will shine forth” (Psa.50:2). As you remain connected to Zion, the beauty and glory of God will shine with greater intensity in your life.

• Zion is full of Joy and Liberty: “Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion on the sides of the north,
  The city of the great King” (Psa.48:2). Jesus is the desire of the nations; and so is the believer. We have no partnership with sorrow; no alliance with agony. The Joy of the whole earth flows from Zion.

• Strength and Security are established in Zion: “The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies!” and “They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion” (Psa.84:7; 110:2). The inhabitants of Zion are renewed in strength and immune from fear (Isa.8:12, 13; 2Tim.1:7).

• Zion is the base of the Lord’s Army: “Blow the trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm in My holy mountain!” (Joel 2: 1a).

• Holiness is the standard in Zion: “Your people shall be volunteers in the day of Your power; In the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning, You have the dew of Your youth” (Psa.110:3). In Zion, every king follows the King of kings with absolute loyalty. There is no room for mutiny and no selling out to Satan. We are sold out to God.

• Deliverance is guaranteed in Zion (Obadiah 17, 21) – “But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions…And saviors shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’s” (Obad.17, 21).

Beloved, it is time to “Look upon Zion, the city of our appointed feasts; Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a quiet home, a tabernacle that will not be taken down…” (Isa.33:20-24). Lack is not the language of Zion. “None” is not the norm of Zion! Sickness and Sin are foreign to Zion. Zion operates in abundance of peace, health and well-being. In Zion, we fully possess our possessions! May you be counted in Zion!
