DOMINION OVER SIN AND CONDEMNATION

Bible Meditation:
Romans 6: 1-23

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace – Romans 6:14

Unlike the sacrificial blood in the Old Testament, the blood of Jesus Christ does not simply cover our sins; it washes away our sins (Rev. 1:5). We’re not “covered creatures”; we’re new creatures: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2Cor.5:17). We have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Cor. 5:21)! As new creatures, we no longer desire to sin, and God doesn’t want us to sin, either. But if we do sin, He has made provision for us: “My little children, these things write I unto you, that you sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous” (1Jh.2:1).

An “advocate” is a lawyer who pleads our case. Concerning the matter of Sin, we have an Advocate in the “Supreme Court” of Heaven pleading our case; none other than Jesus Christ the Righteous! First John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins…”  If I sin – not when – and lose my sense of righteousness, I immediately turn to God and confess: “Dear Lord, I’ve sinned. I’ve missed it. I have flopped. I didn’t want to, but I missed it. Forgive me. Let the Blood avail for me.” Then Jesus testifies for me at the Throne Room of God and says, “I took his place. I shed My blood for him.”

Alleluia! The Father sees Jesus instead of me! He sees what Jesus did to wash away sin; and He counts me righteous because of Jesus! When I sinned, I lost my sense of righteousness. When I confessed my sin, God forgave me; but He did much more than that. First John 1:9 says God is “. . . faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to CLEANSE US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.”  In so doing, He delivered me from every iota of “spiritual inferiority complex.” There is therefore now no condemnation for me in Christ Jesus, as I walk after the spirit and not after the flesh (Rom.8:1). By His grace, I am no longer ashamed to come into my Father’s Presence.

I’ve received “boldness and access with confidence” by the faith of Christ, to approach the Father (Eph.3:12). God cleanses me from all unrighteousness! Kings reign in righteousness: Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment” (Isa.32:1). By Christ’s cleansing grace, I’m righteous; and on that platform, of righteousness, I rule, reign, and exercise dominion! Now I can stand in God’s Presence without a sense of spiritual inferiority or condemnation. Instead of being ruled by Satan and all of his works, I now rule by light and reign by righteousness over the kingdoms of darkness!

Lord, cause me to reign in righteousness over sin, condemnation, and the kingdom of darkness, in Jesus name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
