The LORD is my ROCK, and my Fortress, and my Deliverer; my God, my Strength, in whom I will trust; my Buckler, and the Horn of my salvation, and my High Tower – Psalm 18:2
Today, let’s celebrate the Rock of Ages! Psalm 18:2 reveals Eight of His Powerful Manifestations. The Lord is…
My Rock = my Foundation. To Him I have recourse for shelter, safety, supply, support, divine refreshment; in Him I am secure from all danger; on Him I build my hopes of eternal life and earthly fulfillment.
My Fortress = my Garrison and Mountain stronghold; a place of strength, safety, refuge (Ps.31:3; 71:3; 1Sam.23:14, 19). I am kept in and by God’s power as in a garrison: “Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” (1Pet.1:5). I celebrate my Rock and Fortress!
My Deliverer = Liberator, Who causes me to escape: “Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline Your ear to me, and save me (Ps.71:2). I celebrate Him who delivers me from all afflictions and temptations; out of the hands of all enemies; from a body of sin and death, and from the wrath to come.
My God = the Almighty, Strong, Mighty to save; who knows all, sees all, and performs all things for me: “I will cry to God most high; to God that performs all things for me” (Ps.57:2). I celebrate the Rock and Reservoir of all Blessings for me!
My Strength, in whom I will trust = signifying firmness, fountain, source, and origin. I say with the Psalmist: “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer” (Ps.19:14). “Blessed be the LORD my strength, who teaches my hands to war, and my fingers to fight” (Psa.144:1). “Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength” (Isa.26:4).
My Buckler = shield, defender, who covers my head and heart from the enemies’ darts. God is a buckler to those who trust in Him (Ps.18:30). He is a buckler to those who walk uprightly (Pro.2:7). I celebrate Him who protects and defends me from my enemies, and preserves me from the fiery darts of Satan.
Horn of my salvation: “And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoices in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in Your salvation” (1Sam.2:1). I celebrate Him who pushes, scatters, and destroys my enemies; “And has raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David” (Lk.1:69).
My High Tower = so high as to be out of danger: “My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and He in whom I trust…”(Ps.144:2; Pro.18:10). He positions me so high above and out of the reach of every enemy. His promise to me: “He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure” (Isa.33:16).
Deuteronomy 32 speaks of: the Rock of my salvation (vs.15); the Rock that begat me (vs.18); and the Rock of Israel (vs.37). He is the “Rock of my refuge” (Ps.94:22); and “a great Rock in a weary land” (Is.32:2). Psalm 18:46 caps it up: “The LORD lives; and blessed be MY ROCK; and let the God of my salvation be exalted”. Jesus Christ is that Eternal Rock of Ages: “…for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ” (1Cor.10:4). Now my spirit is singing: “Eternal Rock of Ages (2ce)…I worship You, I adore You…Eternal Rock of Ages”! Alleluia!!

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
