Matthew 11: 25-30

COME to ME, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I WILL GIVE YOU REST” – Matthew 11:28

DIVINE PRESENCE and REST are personified in Christ Jesus: “COME to ME, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I WILL GIVE YOU REST” (Matt.11:28). True Rest is not a vacation or a change of scenery; it is the Person of the Messiah Jesus. The answer to the physically draining and mentally dazing demands of life, is not to hustle harder, but to drop the heavy burdens at the Saviour’s feet, and encounter the great exchange of our exhaustion for His Perfect Peace: “Peace I leave with you, MY PEACE I give to you...” (Jh.14:27a). When we carry a burden that belongs to God, we will break. When we let God carry the burden, we can rest!

The world treats exhaustion like a badge of honour. People are constantly urged to do more, earn more, and be more, leaving their souls running on empty. It’s easy to get caught up in the frantic rhythm of trying to force things to happen in self strength. Divine Presence and Rest are alternative to this cycle of burnout. The Lord looked at a crowd of people who were spiritually and physically worn out by life and religious rules. He did not give them a new checklist or a quick-fix five-step plan. Instead, He gave them the invitation: “Come to Me.” In the Great Exchange, we give Him the heavy loads, hidden anxieties, secret fears, and sleepless nights, and receive His Presence and Rest.

God does not promise to take away all our responsibilities. Instead, He invites us to slide into a "yoke" next to Him. A yoke connects two animals to pull a heavy load together. When we walk firmly yoked to Jesus, He bears the heavier part of the weight. We can work, build, and live from a deep posture of internal peace. However, the pathway to this exchange is Humility. God hides His deepest truths from those who think they are smart and independent, but unveils mysteries to those who rely on Him like children (vv.25-26). Rest begins when we stop trying to figure everything out on our own. Our Lord was never in a hurry and never panicked! He had a calm, gentle, and deliberate pace.

Being totally in control of the universe, we can safely hand the control of our lives over to the Lord; hence, the Ultimate Invitation (vv.27-28). Rest is a free gift attached to His Presence. We cannot earn it; we only receive it by coming to Him and sharing in His yoke (v.29). He asks us to take His comfortable yoke and light burden, and learn from Him (v.30). He is gentle and humble, and walking in step with Him brings refreshing to our souls. If life or daily routine feels crushingly heavy, we might be carrying a burden that Jesus never asked us to lift.

In Jesus’ Name, I declare that:

By the Lord’s Invitation, I step out of heavy labour into Divine Rest. I drop every weight of worry, fear, and performance at my Saviour’s feet.

I trade my limited strength for Unlimited Power of the Holy Spirit. Panic and anxiety have no room in my heart as I rest in Christ’s gentle care.

Tightly yoked to the Lord, life’s liftings are handled by His Power. I walk in the unforced rhythms of Grace, performing without burning out.

My soul is refreshed and restored by Christ’s Sweet Presence. His burden is light, and my daily path is filled with supernatural peace.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
