RESTORATION OF DOUBLE

Return to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope. Even today I declare that I WILL RESTORE DOUBLE TO YOU – Zechariah 9:12

In this imperfect world, trouble has a way of doubling. Left unattended to, a wound will result in far worse state if infection sets in. The impact of sins that are not repented of can suddenly double. Yet, God’s Mercy ensures that even when we fully deserve it, we do not receive double shame, but double honor: “Return to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope. Even today I declare that I WILL RESTORE DOUBLE TO YOU” (Zech.9:12).

Jehovah will rescue you from the jaws of the wicked and assume governance of your life (v.7). The LORD will encamp about His house (v.8), which temple you are (1Cor.3:16). He will debar the oppressor from further trespassing into your destiny’s territory. In place of the adversary, the King’s dominion will come and take over in your life, bringing salvation, restoration and great rejoicing along (v.9). The LORD will cut off all instruments of oppression against you. He’ll render useless every chariot, horse, and battle bow, and ensure His dominion of peace (v.10).

Having rescued their destinies from the pits of sin and pollution, the prisoners of hope are then admonished to turn to the stronghold of faith in God’s Name, Word, and Blood (v.12). If you repent, return, and believe, God promises to RESTORE double to you. He’ll grant you double dignity and multiplied honor. God will repay two blessings for each of your troubles. He’ll give you double bonus: meaning that everything you lost will be returned twice-over! Our Loving Father will:

• Transform your mess into messages;
• Transmute your demotion into promotion ;
• Reverse your downturns into turn arounds;
• Convert your setbacks into set ups and come-backs;
• Use humiliation as preparation for your exaltation
• Turn your tests into testimonies and your scars into stars;
• Change the barriers into bridges and opposition to opportunities; and
• Adapt what you have done wrong into something He can use for right.

God will give you beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, praise in place of heaviness; and double honor for trouble.
