CHECK YOUR ATTITUDE TO CHANGE

Bible Meditation:
Mark 10:46-52

And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus – Mark 10:50 (NKJV)

You cannot afford to ignore change. You must be sensitive to divine change. When blind Bartimaeus sensed his season of change, he pressed into it with all of his might. In spite of the voices of opposition and suppression, he cried out for Mercy until his change came! In response to his change-provoking attitude, Jesus – the Life and Light – stood still, commanded the blind man to be called, and commanded his destiny to align (Mk.10:49-52). From the darkness of blindness, Bartimaeus was ushered into his season of sight – a brand and bright new day!

God intends His children to be Catalysts and Initiators of change rather than Victims and Casualties of change. A wise man said, “When you’re through Changing, You’re through!” To experience anything new in life, you will have to change what you have been doing or how you’ve been doing it. You may have to change your posture, position, or disposition. Joseph had to change his raiment from dungeon rags to palace-fitting dressing (Gen.41:14). Bartimaeus had to rise from his beggarly posture and cast off his garment of ignominy – the emblems of a pitiful past – in order to embrace divine change (Mk.10:50).

Don’t be afraid of change. The most miserable people are those who fear to change. Playing safe is probably the most unsafe thing in the world. God never closes one door without opening another one, but we must be willing to change, in order to walk through the new door (Isa.43:18, 19). The opportunity of a new open door does not however preclude the existence of adversaries: For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries” (1Cor.16:9). In God, for every door that closed, by the eyes of faith, you can discover two that have opened in the process of change.

You cannot afford to rest in stagnancy or be comfortable in complacency. You must go forward and be open to those adjustments that God has for you. Peter responded to the Lord’s command of Change and he was bountifully rewarded (Lk.5:4-6). Are there restraining garments of doubt, fear, unbelief, traditions, and wrong assumptions that you need to cast away or throw aside in order to heed the Master’s Call for Change? Do not hesitate or procrastinate. Cast off the garment and take the next step or leap of Faith into your seasons of shining.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to develop the right attitudes to change, and to be willing to cast off every restraining garment in order to access my seasons of shining, in Jesus’ Name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
