Joshua 6: 1-21

So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat… – Joshua 6: 20a

Joshua Chapter Six is a prophetic picture of the Christian’s CONQUEST: And the Lord said to Joshua: “SEE! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor” (Jos.6:2). Jericho was the oldest, lowest city, 1300 feet below sea level; a strategic stronghold that needed to be defeated in order to possess the Promised land. Jericho symbolizes the strongholds in our lives that prevent us from walking in all that Christ has obtained for you. Here are Seven Principles of Conquest for obtaining the inheritance we have in Christ.

  1. Hear the PROPHETIC Word (Jos.6:2): What is God saying to you? Whose voice are you listening to? He has instructed you to "take no thought for your life" trusting in the Him to supply your every need (Mt.6:25). He also says "Fear not little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom" (Lk 12:22, 32). Don’t listen to the “the accuser of the brethren” (Rev.12:10). As they walked around the walls they refused to listen to mocking demoralizing spirits.
  2. VISUALIZE the VICTORY: LOOK with the Eyes of Faith – “SEE…”! Moses told Israel: ‘LOOK, the LORD your God has set the land before you; go up and possess it, as the LORD God of your fathers has spoken to you; do not fear or be discouraged” (Dt.1:21). Faith sees the victory. Doubt sees the obstacles. Faith brings a good report. Doubt brings a bad report. Faith produces a positive attitude and peace. Doubt leads to discontentment, fear, and a rebellious attitude. Faith sees with the eyes of God. Doubt sees with the eyes of man. Don’t let doubters destroy your devotion.
  3. QUIET THE FLESH: “Now Joshua had commanded the people, saying, “You shall not shout or make any noise with your voice, nor shall a word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I say to you, ‘Shout!’ Then you shall shout.” (Jos.6:10). Don’t get into dialogue with the enemy. Walk in the Spirit and don’t mutter a word. Moses assured Israel by the Red Sea: “The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace” (Exo.14:14).
  4. FOCUS on the LORD: Position yourself according to the word of God knowing that He is in your midst (Jos.6:8-9). “The ark” – the symbol of Jehovah’s presence – was given the place of honor, centralized in the order of the procession, before the congregation, intimating them that victory was from Him. The “men of war” were followed by the ark with seven priests in front, with "trumpets of rams’ horns," and then all the body of the people (Heb.12:2).
  5. .WALK in OBEDIENCE: “As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk you in Him” (Col.2:6). But you must have been reconciled to Him: "Can two walk together except they are agreed?" (Amo. 3:2). To walk “after the Lord” is to live in complete submission to His revealed will (2 Chr. 34:31). To “walk in Christ” is a union, like a branch in the vine. It is to live by His enablement, strengthened by Him, “rooted and built up in Him” (Col. 2:27).
  6. Anticipate the VICTORY: Joshua had made it clear on the seventh day that according to the Lord’s timing, the walls would come down. be ready, when the Lord says so, to give a clear shout of Triumph (Psa.47:1-3).
  7. Receive the PROMISE (Jos.6:13, 15-16): The number 7 was predominant in this last day of walking around the city and seeing the walls of Jericho falling down: 7th day, 7 times, 7 Priests, 7 Trumpets, 7 Blasts. Seven nations were subdued, and it took 7 years to subdue the land. Seven signifies perfection, fullness, God-given covenant, rest, and completeness.

Trumpets symbolize revelation (Lev.25:9). When you speak or shout you must send a clear undiluted sound of the Gospel declaration to the world and powers of darkness. Rise up! It’s time for the Conquest of your Promised Possessions!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
