COVENANT OF HIS PRESENCE

I am with you always, even unto the end of the world – Matthew 28:20

God’s Covenant is to be WITH and IN His people ALWAYS! His Universal Presence fills every corner of creation. Whether we acknowledge it or not, we are submerged in the ocean of His Presence (Ps.139:7-10). In the New Testament however, God’s Presence assumes a fuller meaning: He is both WITH us and IN us. JESUS is EMMANUEL, God with us (Mt. 1:23). JESUS is the Presence of God at home in us (Jh.14:17, 23)! God dwells within us – His Temple – by His Spirit (1Cor.6:19).

Notwithstanding the Covenant, the reality of God’s Presence must be personally appropriated by Faith (Heb.4:1-2). If we don’t make it a daily habit to seek and follow the Lord, the natural tendency is to drift like a boat without a helmsman, and to be controlled by the old nature and its appetites, or the world around us. Practising His Presence involves a daily, intimate, practical walk with the One who lives in us by His Spirit, in order to experience and enjoy His power, peace and provision.

The LORD is inviting you into Divine Intimacy: to know the Essence of His Presence; to practise His Presence; to be in such deep connection and communion with your Creator, as to continually see the divine in the daily, the miraculous in the mundane. The Covenant of His Presence is loaded with blessings and benefits:

• His Presence is your Source of Joy, Peace, and Pleasure: “You will show me the path of life: in Your Presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand there are everlasting pleasures” (Ps.16:11).
• His Presence promises Purity and Perfection: being with Him, you become like Him (Mk.3:14).
• His Presence guarantees Protection: “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Ps.91:1).
• His Presence empowers for Progress and Exploits: in His Presence, you are never stagnated; you walk through, no matter how dark and fearful the valley is; never giving up through fiery trials and tribulations: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for YOU ARE WITH ME…” (Psa.23:4).

Beloved, God’s Presence will transform, purify, perfect, protect, preserve, defend, and empower you. The Lord Jesus assures us: I will never leave you nor forsake you (Heb.13:5b).
