“My son, give attention to MY WORDS…for they are life to those who find them, and HEALTH to all their flesh”” – Proverbs 4:20-22
The Bible is the Living Source of COVENANT WORDS of HEALTH: “My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and HEALTH to all their flesh” (Pro.4:20-22). David, writing in God’s stead, was admonishing his son to give his words devoted attention. That should be the attitude of every believer to God’s Word, which is the practical medium for our healing and health. The Hebrew word for “health” in verse 22 is “medicine.” The Word – heard, received, and believed – is health or medicine to our flesh. Medicine must however be administered if it would be effective.
Many people erroneously substitute belief in healing for the actual taking of God’s medicine – His Word. They say, “I believe in healing” without actually taking the medicine. No medicine works by simply believing in its efficacy. It must be intentionally and deliberately applied. There is no real benefit derived from believing in food without eating it. What good would it be for one to believe in water and not actually drink? God’s Word is His medicine; and there are a number of similarities between this divine medicine and natural medicine.
God’s Word is a healing agent; just as natural medicine itself contains the capacity to produce healing. Inherent within His Word is the ability, capacity, and energy to effect healing: “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” The keys to partaking of the healing power in God’s Word are: to find and feed on it until it penetrates the spirit to deposit that life. Medicine will work for anyone who takes it, irrespective of who it is. It is not a matter of if God is willing or not to heal, but whether or not the individual will receive healing by taking the medicine that produces it.
Furthermore, if it is to be effective, medicine must be taken following specific instructions. This may relate to whether they are to be applied internally or externally, before or after meals, and to what dosage – specific number of capsules or tablets once, twice or thrice a day. No matter how useful the medicine is, it must be taken according to prescription or it won’t work. So it is with God’s Word – our medicine. It must be taken according to the Great Physician’s instructions for it to work.
Proverbs 4:20-21 states the instructions for taking God’s medicine. Attending to them, inclining our ears to them, and keeping them before our eyes will direct the Word into the midst of our hearts. It is only as His Words access the heart and abide that they produce healing in the body. These transcend having head knowledge or responding with mental assent to the Word. The medicine of God’s Words must penetrate to the spirit through meditation to produce physical or mental healing. The art of meditation includes: attending, hearing, looking, muttering, musing, and pondering on the Word. God’s way of healing is clearly spiritual: Power is ministered first to the spirit, and then distributed to the mind and body.
sRevelation knowledge of the Covenant Words of Health must be accompanied by confessions of the same. It is strange that some believers confuse wishing and believing. They come into the arena of healing and health with the faith-nullifying words, “if it be Your will.” There is no doubt about what God’s will is. His Word – the seed of faith – has explicitly affirmed that Healing is His Will. Therefore, utterances that bear the badge of doubt – IF – are akin to destroying the seed.
The Covenant Word of Health taken internally produces external effects. We must note however, that just like it takes time for medicine to work, consistent, diligent, and patient application are required to produce enduring results. We must keep taking God’s medicine without wavering, and give it time to work. The Covenant Word works wondrfully, always!

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
