Philippians 2: 9-16

“For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure” – Philippians 2:13

The Secret to High-level spiritual performance is the DIVINE POWER WITHIN: For it is GOD WHO WORKS IN YOU both to will and to do for His good pleasure” (Phi.2:13). The New International Version says, “for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. It is not unlikely that we have felt inadequate for some tasks God placed on our hearts or to fulfil His calling on our lives. Looking at the demands of the Christian life – holiness, obedience, service, love – we could feel overwhelmed by our human limitations. But spiritual performance is not like a self-help project. Today’s meditation passage shifts the focus from “I must do” to “God is doing.”

We are not running this race alone. The same Divine Power that raised Jesus from the dead is energizing our inner man (vv.9-11). In Christ, and with God working within, we are empowered to perform. The word “works” in Greek is energeō, from which the word “energy” is derived. God does not just demand high performance; He provides the Power to Perform, working in two ways: First, He works in us to "will": He shapes our desires. That sudden desire to pray, serve, or give, is God moving in our hearts. Second, He works in us to “do” or “act”: He empowers our actions. God is actively producing both the desire and the grace, ability, and strength to perform His Will within us.

God does not just tell us what to do; He gives us the desire or "will" to do it, and then provides the ability or power to perform it. Our obedience is about partnering with the Creator. Christ is in us, working through us. Our duty is not to strive in our own strength, but to surrender and “work out” – cultivate – the salvation God has already “worked in” (v.12b). The phrase “Fear and trembling” signifies reverence and a serious commitment to obedience, not terror of God. The goal is not our own glory, but “His good purpose”"His good pleasure.”  When we submit to this inner working – avoid grumbling, act with integrity, live blameless, obey without complaining, and hold fast the Word of Life – we cease being ordinary and begin to shine like stars in a dark world (vv.14-16).

In Jesus’ Exalted name, I declare that:

By Your exaltation, I am positioned for elevation in all areas of life. Every obstacle and negative knee are forced to bow before me.

God is at work in me, deleting inability, and establishing divine capacity, the desire to do His Will, and the power to perform it effectively.

My life is testimony, producing results that glorify the Father. I cannot fail because the Almighty is empowering my efforts from within.

I am holding fast to the Word of Life, and my efforts shall not be in vain. Free from the spirit of murmuring and grumbling, I am fuelled by joy.

I am a blameless child of God, uncontaminated by the corruption of this world. I shine as a star in my family, workplace, and community.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
