DIVINE PROCESSING (8)

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory…” – 2 Corinthians 3:18a

DIVINE PROCESSING is the Holy Spirit’s continuous, inside-out work of transformation into the Image of Christ: “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Cor 3:18). By removing the veils of sin and self-reliance, we’re empowered to behold God’s Glory and grow from one level of spiritual maturity to the next. As Believers, our sufficiency – ability, competence, and qualification – is of God (v.5). We cannot achieve spiritual maturity or fulfill our calling through human intellect or fleshly effort; hence, Divine Processing requires total surrender and reliance on the Holy Spirit.

Whereas the Old Covenant focused on the "letter" – rules that expose sin and bring spiritual death, the New Covenant, empowered by the Spirit, brings life, liberty, and the inner capacity to obey God. In essence, the Spirit gives life (v.6). When a person turns to Christ, the veil of spiritual blindness, religious tradition, and unbelief is removed (v.16). This allows us to have an intimate, unobstructed relationship with God. Just as a mirror reflects whatever is placed before it, Believers who continually gaze upon the Glory of God in His Word are mirrored and changed. Beholding and reflecting are not overnight events; but a progressive, constant metamorphosis engineered by the Lord, the Spirit.

Transformation from glory to glory often coincides with waiting periods. We should not try to avoid life's trials, as they could be the very tools God uses to process and shape our character. The Holy Spirit’s processing may not change our circumstances instantly, but it permanently changes who we are within them. Also, since transformation happens by beholding God, we must prioritize His Word, committing to daily scripture reading and meditation to keep our hearts unveiled. We cannot reflect His Glory if our life is veiled by worldly distractions and unyielding pride. When we release self-sufficiency, acknowledge our limitations, and pray for the Holy Spirit to take over our daily tasks, ministries, and relationships, then we’ll experience the full rewards of Divine Processing. We must gaze upon Him until we bear His likeness.

In Jesus’ name, I declare that:

My sufficiency comes entirely from God. I have total liberty in the Spirit to reflect the Character and Love of my Lord and Saviour.

The veils of spiritual blindness and past limitations are removed, and every spirit of anxiety and pride are cast out, as I rest in God’s Grace.

The Holy Spirit is actively working inside me, transforming me from the inside out. I am being changed from one degree of glory to the next.

I am a new creation in Christ; old habits are broken, and I move forward in victory. My life is a living letter of praise, known and read by all.

As I behold the beauty of the Lord, I become a mirror of His Grace, empowered to overcome every obstacle and finish my divine assignments.
