FRAILTY OF NATURAL LIFE

Bible Meditation:
Isaiah 40: 1-8

LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how FRAIL I am – Psalm 39:4

Natural life is extremely frail and fragile. Using the illustration of GRASS, the Bible severally alludes to the FRAILTY of natural life:

- As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more (Psalm 103: 15-16).

- The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever (Isaiah 40: 6-8).

Despite the frailty of natural life, God has called His children into the supernatural life of Faith. The shocking reality of life’s frailty should however make us wise in our perspectives and practicalities of living.

Material life is frail and insecure we should never cling to it as our Pillar of strength. The greatest of wealth can wither in a moment. Nothing must be so important that we cannot give up in gaining eternity with Christ. The split second, the moment the breath of life ceases, EVERYTHING we ever had or owned will belong to another!

Life is uncertain. Life is usually unfair. Life is full of accidents. No one knows accurately what will happen next. No one is absolutely certain of seeing the next day. People die every day who assumed they had years to live! James 4:15 therefore admonished: “For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.”

Alleluia, we may not know the details of what tomorrow holds, but we do know Who holds tomorrow! Our Father-God holds tomorrow!

Prayer:
Lord, strengthen me to live the supernatural life of Faith, far above every form of frailty; let me know You as my Certainty and Security in Jesus name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
