Bible Meditation:
Psalm 119: 9-16

I will delight myself in Your statutes; I WILL NOT FORGET YOUR WORD – Psalm 119:16

When we consciously pursue the Divine, we’ll discover GOD’S HEART IN HIS WORD: I will meditate on Your precepts, and contemplate Your ways. I will delight myself in Your statutes; I WILL NOT FORGET YOUR WORD” (Psa.119: 15-16). To hide the Word of God in one’s heart is not to keep it somewhere in there to prevent others from seeing it (v.11). It means to have spent much time in studying the Word until it becomes deep within him and secure in one’s heart. The Psalmist wanted to live for God and understand His Heart, but he realized he must know the Word to be able to do this. So, he spent time in study and meditation.

The psalmist’s attitude was to learn from God – not tell God how he wanted to live. He did not study just for the academics of it but with a desire to become more like God and to live a life of purity: “How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word” (v.9). He had an open heart to learn what pleased God and what did not. If we are to live for God we must have the same attitude and apply the same effort to study and know His Will. We can know a lot of facts from the Bible without really knowing what it is saying or how to apply it in life. Let’s open our minds as children seeking to learn and be led, as we study His Word.

When we choose to sincerely seek God with our whole heart, Scriptures will provide us with an endless well of life-giving truth. The Gift of God’s Word grants us access into His Heart. Whatever need we have, God will use His words release life, joy, peace, strength, guidance and hope to us continually and unfailingly. He promises we will find Him when we seek Him with our whole heart (Jer.29:13). God is ready and waiting to meet with us today, eager to meet all our needs and exceed all our expectations.

In a volatile world, God’s Word is the only stable foundation that does not shift with time or circumstance, or fail from being fulfilled. His promises are ever true (Psa. 89:34). They are always “YES” in Christ (2 Cor. 1:20). In committing to pursuing God through His Word, we will find rest to our souls (Mt.11:28-30). Seeking God in His Word ignites the eternity He placed in our hearts and sets our mind on eternal things. In seeking His Word, we not only find life, but fulfil our lives: “Seek Me that you may live” (Amos 5:4-6). We’ll also find limitless strength in the Word: “My soul melts from heaviness; strengthen me according to Your Word” (Psa.119:28).

The pages of Scripture are filled with declarations of the wonderful, mysterious, powerful, and loving nature of our heavenly Father. The pages of Scripture are filled with the words of the Living God – who is ever active, powerful, and loving. The Bible is a faithful companion to those who long to find the invisible God who so greatly desires to be discovered. Scripture is also a powerful tool to combat incorrect thinking with God’s Truth. As we open our hearts to God’s Word and Spirit, we’ll receive fresh revelation on how He longs to use His Word to guide us. In God’s Word we find Life as we’re led directly to our heavenly Father.

Scripture is not just a set of rules to try to keep. It is a Guide to experience the adventure of communion with the heavenly Father. Reading, studying, and meditating in the Word are not chores to be endured. Our lives are designed to be lived “by every word that comes from the mouth of God (Mt.4:4). May our hearts grow in love for Scripture and the God who inspired it: Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day… How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth” (Psa.119: 97, 103).

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
