Ephesians 3: 1-21

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the POWER that WORKS IN US – Ephesians 3:20

GOD’S POWER WORKS IN GOD’S PEOPLE! That’s the character and nature of His Power! Whatever God would do on earth in this current dispensation, He does “according to the Power that works in us” (Eph.3:20). Paul describes God’s work as “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.” The more he thought upon God’s power, the more he was stunned. Those things that we may not even think about asking or think to be possible are the very things He specializes in doing. The Power of God is an intrinsic quality of His Person. He is the Possessor of all Power. There is no power that exists outside of Him. His Power is not a cosmic force, esoteric energy or mystical principle, as some oddly suppose. Yet, God’s Power is not equal to Him. He possesses Power. His Power belongs to Him. He is therefore superior to and greater than His Power. He controls and directs His Power to accomplish His purposes. He doesn’t need anyone to supply Him with power. Praise God, it is His good pleasure to invest His Power in His people!

People are central to the purpose of God’s Power. God primarily focuses His Power in the direction of People: to bless His people, in order for us to be a blessing to many other people. God does not hoard His Power and He never expects us to. He also does not merchandise His Power, and neither should we. The Lord tells us: Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. FREELY you have received, FREELY give” (Mt.10:8). God empowers us to empower and enrich others. He wants to release, manifest, and demonstrate His Supernatural Power through every Spirit-filled believer; not just a select few! His Power is not only for full-time ministers, but equally for laymen. It is not just for the strong, but equally for the weak. It is not just for the intellectuals, but equally for the uneducated. It is not just for the bold, but equally for the shy. It is not just for men, but equally for women; not just for adults, but equally for youth and children.

To partake of His Supernatural Power was the reason Jesus mandated the disciples to remain in Jerusalem: Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are ENDUED WITH POWER from on high” (Lk.24:49). He wanted them to be clothed with His Supernatural Power, and He knew they would get the Power when they were filled with the Holy Spirit. In the New Testament, every believer is a priest before God and has direct access to the full Power of God through Jesus Christ our Saviour, who “has made us kings and priests to His God and Father…” (Rev.1:6a). We need to realise that God’s Power is not a respecter of persons. His Power flows through housewives, labourers, young people, elderly folks, doctors, and students – any believer who has received and yields to His Spirit. As a Spirit-filled believer in Jesus Christ, you have His Power and you need to begin to deploy it under the direction of the Holy Spirit, and for His glory. Remember, whatever you do not use, you’ll lose!

We can use the analogy of rechargeable batteries to illustrate God’s Power in His people. As a spiritual battery, you can be fully charged, full of the Power of God and ready to go out and do His work, for His glory; or you can be fully discharged, with little or no power to manifest. Only the filled and charged believer can be used by the Lord to meet people’s needs, as His Power flows out to save, heal, deliver, encourage, do miracles, and work wonders, as He wills. God has made us, His children, to be those stewards of His grace – stewards of His Creative and Constructive Power, “according to the power that works in us.”

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
