GOD’S WORDS OF HEALING

“He sent HIS WORD and HEALED them, and delivered them from their destructions” – Psalm 107:20

Scripture is crystal clear on the dynamic efficacy of GOD’S WORDS of HEALING: “He sent HIS WORD and HEALED them, and delivered them from their destructions” (Psa.107:20). God’s Word conveys His healing power. He watches over His Word to perform it (Jer.1:12). Faith in the Word is critical, but it is when Healing scriptures become a reality in our spirits, that they operate in our bodies. For example, the Word says: “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and BY HIS STRIPES WE ARE HEALED” (Isa.53:4-5). As we read and meditate upon this Sent Word, the Father watches over His Word, making that Word good in us!

Jesus was stricken, smitten, afflicted, wounded, bruised, chastised, and received stripes, all for our healing and wholeness! Since surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses) and carried our sorrows (diseases), we do not need to carry them. They cannot be a part of us because God’s Word affirms that He put our sins and the diseases due for us on Jesus: “… that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2Cor.5:21b). No matter what the physical symptoms suggest, the spiritual reality is that the righteousness of God can neither be sick nor be ruled by sin! Satan has no dominion over the Righteousness of God unless we hand it over to him. God’s Word makes us to know this. We are saved, redeemed, and recreated by the Word. And it is the Word that heals us now!

Let’s reflect on our Genesis. God created the human body, mind and soul to live in perfect harmony forever. His original plan had no place for sickness, disease, depression or decay. Then Adam allowed sin to enter into the world and all plummeted. It was never God’s plan for us to be sick in any way. It couldn’t be, because God is only light, life, and love. He is not the author of sickness. Everything He touches gets healed and restored as evidenced throughout the ministry of Jesus’ earth walk. Everywhere He travelled, healing manifested: “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38).

Jesus came, lived, died, and was resurrected so that we would be saved, healed, and restored. This is part of God’s eternal, unchanging Will for humankind. Yes, there are times we must hold on to our healing by faith, but even then, the reality is that, in Christ we have been healed. It might take some time for the body to align itself with that truth; nevertheless, it doesn’t make the truth any less true. Our Loving Father-God wants us to enjoy wholeness of health and fullness of healing in all parts of our lives. His Words are our medicine (Pro.4:22). Let’s practise meditating on the promises of God, reviving our faith daily as we speak Scriptures over our lives, see ourselves healed, have brethren pray in agreement with us, thank God for His gift of health, and receive with patience. Here are few Scriptures to confess and meditate upon:

“So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you” (Exo.25:23).

“HEAL ME, O Lord, and I SHALL BE HEALED; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise” (Jer.17:14).

“And He said to her, “Daughter, YOUR FAITH has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction” (Mk.5:34).

Yes, we receive healing and perfection of health in the Name of Jesus, but, it is the Word that has taught us the value of the Name, the authority in the Name, and our legal right to the use of the Name. So, in reality, it is the Word that heals us!
