HANDS SET FOR ETERNAL IMPACT

“Also, I will SET HIS HAND over the sea, and HIS RIGHT HAND over the rivers” – Psalm 89:25

God promised David and by extension every Covenant Child of His, HANDS SET for ETERNAL IMPACT: “I will SET HIS HAND also in the sea, and HIS RIGHT HAND in the rivers” (Psa.89:25). This speaks of God’s deposit of dominion for the delivery of global and eternal impact. The sea in biblical symbolism represents “peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues” – the vast expanse of humanity (Rev.17:15). Habakkuk 2:14 prophesied of the knowledge of the glory of the Lord filling the earth “as the waters cover the seas.” Revelation 13:1-7 portrays “a beast rising up out of the sea,” to who authority was given “over every tribe, tongue, and nation.” The sea also symbolises eternity’s immeasurability.

Rivers are inlets into and tributaries of the sea: “All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full; to the place from which the rivers come, there they return again” (Ecc.1:7). Jesus called His disciples to be “fishers of men” (Mt.4:19). This implies that they were sent to go out and bring in “catches" of converts from the world’s seas and rivers (Mt.13: 47-50). In this new Month of Hands Set for Eternal Impact, the Lord is set to reveal through His Word, ways by which He is preparing and positioning our limited human hands for unlimited dominion; how He sets the hands of His anointed for global and eternal Impact in Life and Destiny. God is too purposeful than to leave things to chance. Four Divine Strategies by which God sets our hands up for eternal Impact are: Anointed hands, Blessed hands, Trained hands, and Skilled hands.

Anointed Hands: “I have found My servant David; with My holy oil I have anointed him, with whom My hand shall be established; also My arm shall strengthen him” (vv.20-21). Prophet Elisha’s hands placed upon King Jehoash’s hands indicated a transference of the anointing: “Then he said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow.” So he put his hand on it, and Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands” (2Kgs.13:16). The Anointing is God’s Power for Performance and Dominion: “…his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil” (Isa.10:27). God also anoints our hands for healings, miracles, signs and wonders (Acts 5:12a).

Blessed Hands: “The Lord your God will BLESS you in all your produce and in all the WORK of your HANDS, so that you surely rejoice” (Dt.16:15b). God blesses the hands of His covenant children with wealth-creating power: “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you POWER to get WEALTH, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day” (Dt.8:18). He blesses hands for profit and prosperity (Dt.28:12b; Dt.30:9a). He blesses “doing” hands: “Whatever he DOES shall prosper” (Psa.1:3b).

Trained Hands: “HE TEACHES MY HANDS to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze” (Psa.18:34). God trains the hands of His saints to valiantly prevail in war: “Blessed be the Lord my Rock, Who TRAINS my HANDS for war, and my fingers for battle” (Psa.144:1).

Skilled Hands: “So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, and guided them by the SKILLFULNESS of his HANDS” (Psa.78:72). Skills are “know-hows” that we acquire and cultivate to transform life’s principles into performance, productivity, and profit. Every productive venture or impactful life requires a skill or set of skills to manifest. Skilful hands are more creative and productive than consuming.

If we would submit to His Word and the leading of His Spirit, God will prepare and position our hands, lives, and generations for Eternal Impact and Global Dominion: “His seed also I will make to endure forever, and his throne as the days of heaven” (v.29).
