Psalm 46: 1-11

God is our refuge and strength, a very present HELP in trouble – Psalm 46:1

As a child of God, His HELP is part of my divine Inheritance. God is my very Present Help in trouble: He is my perpetually abiding Help. The word help means: to aid, lend strength, succor, means of deliverance; to give assistance, stand by, cause to stand, support or carry the weight of. Help means to do for someone what he or she cannot do for himself or herself. There is Someone who wants to carry all of the weights in your heart for you: the weights of daily existence, career, parenting, family, finances, and ministry. He is your very present Help. He has always been there, all through the toiling and struggling; yet you have often failed to call on Him as you should. If I looked back at my own life, there have been many more times when I was oblivious of and abandoned my Help, than the times that I had called upon Him!

Jehovah is ALWAYS there as my very Present Help: He never goes on a journey, never sleeps nor slumbers (Psa.121:4). Yet, many times we abandon Him, while seeking for help where there is none; trusting in our human wisdom, and believing that the answers are in ourselves, devoid of His Spirit’s leading. We must trust in the Lord with ALL of our hearts, and lean not on our own understanding, but acknowledge God in ALL our ways (Pro. 3:5, 6). Sometimes I think that the issue I am dealing with is a trivial issue for which I do not need God when I can calculate things out and get the answers. He is there, watching as I am busy with human permutations and carnal calculations, which often end up futile. There are times we assume everything is neat, fit, settled, only for us to be disappointed and shocked in the face of limitations, failures, and defeat. Many times we are so confident in the abilities and assurances of others around us, only to be let down and dissappointed! But when God Himeslf raises us Helpers of Destiny, we will never be disappointed!

I have discovered that I don’t need to wait for trouble before I call upon God. When I get into trouble and call on Him, His Mercy answers. But, I don’t need a day of trouble before I realise that God is there for me: He is my refuge, my strength, my deliverer, and very present help in and out of trouble. If you learn to call upon Him when there is no trouble, then He would spare you from trouble; and you will avoid days of trouble! Bible also refers to the ‘time of need’ (Heb.4:16) ‘Need’ is a better situation than ‘trouble.’ Simply realise your need, and call upon the Lord as your ‘Helper’ or ‘Need-Meeter.’ If you can recognize your time of need and learn to call upon the Lord early, then you will not allow the time of need to degenerate into a ‘time of trouble’ before you call upon the Lord.

Verses 2-5 of Psalm 46 portray a picture of confusion, turmoil, chaos, and catastrophe. Though everything around be troubled, though the circumstances are chaotic, there is something that is never troubled. In the midst of that chaos, there is a river that is always peaceful, that remains unperturbed (v.4). That river flows from the City of the Lord, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High God: “God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early” (v.5). God in the midst of that river keeps it from being shaken or troubled: “…she shall not be moved.” God does not want you to be “moved” – anxious, agitated, confused, doubtful, fearful, perplexed or unsettled!  He will help you “and that RIGHT EARLY.” Your help shall not arrive late or belated. Your help shall not be delayed. Help from on high shall be right on time! You also will not be late for your help, in Jesus name! Beloved, “Be still, and know” that He is God (Psa.46:10)!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
