Bible Meditation:
Matthew 7: 1-14

“Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and YOU WILL FIND; knock, and it will be opened to you” – Matthew 7:7

God wants us to understand HOW TO FIND PURPOSE: “Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will FIND; knock, and it will be opened to you” (Mt.7:7). Purpose that will be accomplished must first be discovered. Purpose that will be fulfilled must first be found. Nothing can take the place of finding, understanding, and fulfilling your purpose in life. Many philosophers have debated the Question of Purpose over the ages. Strangely, many Christians find themselves struggling to know their God-given purpose in life. If that describes your present situation, you’re not alone. It is natural for any rational person to question if his or her life is being wasted, particularly if one’s actions didn’t seem to reflect a satisfying life. You could be wondering if what you’re passionate about or investing your time and life in aligns with God’s purpose for your life.

There are no formulae to finding God’s Purpose in life. But let’s meditate on these five pointers to locating where you belong on earth: the Word, your Calling, your Potential (Gifts), your Identity, and Prayers.

The Word: you cannot understand who you are and what you are meant to accomplish without referring to your “Owner’s Manual” – the Bible – with its wealth of divine knowledge to show you the Master’s blueprint for your life. It is the authentic source of every God-ordained purpose. To live with passion and purpose you must continue to learn who Jesus Christ is and what He has called you to accomplish: “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (Jh.8:31-32). God’s Word reveals His will, and for you to fulfil purpose, you must submit to His Will. Put down your self-life and personal agenda, to gain Christ’s Life: “There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand” (Pro.19:21). It’s time to turn to the Word.

Your Calling: For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable” (Rom.11:29). Whereas everyone is gifted, some are called into specific assignments, which take diverse forms: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Eph.2:10). God calls you to a purpose – to do good works – “tailor-made” just for you. The more you know Him through His Word, the clearer your purpose becomes. And He endows you with the potential – the gifts and all you need to accomplish that purpose.

Your Potential: Your Gift is a pointer to your purpose in life. Gifts are the natural endowments that enhance profiting in life. Your gift is that virtue that naturally flows out of you without pressure and stress. Talents are natural instruments built into your human system to make you a profitable occupant of the earth. They are assets that God bestows on us to “trade with” and “occupy” (Mt.25:15; Lk.19:13).

Your Identity:  Purpose derives from Identity, which is the integration of your assets, abilities, potentials, weaknesses, and peculiarities. You originated from God. You were in His heart, in His dreams long before the foundations of the earth. You are not a mistake or a mere by-product of a happenstance encounter between your parents. You were expected here on earth, to glorify God regardless of what you might have experienced.

Through Prayers: as you seek God’s face daily in child-like faith and pray for direction, you’ll attain peace and encouter divine vision. Understanding that each day you live is a gift, you must ask the Lord how to make the most of your life, living by faith and not by sight.

As you ask, seek and knock, the Lord has promised that you will receive an answer, you will discover purpose, and the door of revelation shall be opened to you (v.7). By His Grace, you will find the narrow gate and the way which leads to life (v.14).  You belong somewhere. You have a Purpose – an Assignment. Locate it! Define it. Write it. Communicate it. Pursue it!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
