LET LOVE GUIDE (2)

Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good – Romans 12: 21

Yesterday, we were counselled to LET LOVE GUIDE no matter the seasons or situations being faced. Whether we are passing through complicated and messy seasons of life; or wading through storms of slander and onslaughts of strife, we must LET LOVE GUIDE!

PASSIVITY is not the answer. ESCAPISM is not the route to take. Do that right and loving thing, right away, to disprove to yourself the offensive against you. First things first: stop the bleeding from the deepest wound. Take the next small loving step, the right way, and right away.

For example: have compassion on your adversaries even if you have not understood them. This will ease your pain! See their words and actions as emanating from a place of hurt, not hate. HURT PEOPLE HURT PEOPLE. You don’t have to compound issues by reacting in their coin: an-eye-for-an-eye. Refuse to retaliate or to respond out of hurt. Let love guide you, not hurt or hatred.

LOVE enables you to make positively impactful CHOICES:
 Love empowers you to feel hurt without becoming consumed by hatred.
 You feel angry, but don’t have to respond in wrath or violence.
 You feel offended, but don’t have to take offence and react or retaliate negatively.
 You feel insecure, but don’t have to act insecure and immature.

Allow love to hold your hand and empower you in every situation. Don’t ever be afraid to do the next right thing, right away; to take the next right step, right away. When you allow love to guide you, then you’ll see how “the peace of God will rule in your hearts” (Col. 3:15).
