“But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the LIGHT, for whatever makes manifest is LIGHT” – Ephesians 5:13
The LIGHT of KNOWLEDGE exposes the unfruitful works of Darkness, so Believers can Awake, Arise and Walk as Children of Light: “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the LIGHT, for whatever makes manifest is LIGHT” (Eph.5: 11-13). Christians are called to be Children of Light in a dark world. We fulfil this calling as the Light of Knowledge equips us to relate correctly to a morally dark world, providing us with guiding principles on how to respond when situations of sin and iniquity arise, as surely, they will!
Light empowers us to be like GOD: “Therefore be imitators of God as dear children” (v.1). Apostle Paul was answering the question of how to live and walk in Christ’s Light: “For you were once darkness, but now YOU ARE LIGHT in the LORD. WALK as CHILDREN of LIGHT” (v.8). This demands New Knowledge – Divine or Revelation Knowledge: “For this YOU KNOW, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God” (v.5). In chapters 1-3 Paul focused on the new life a Christian has in Christ – What we are in Christ. In chapters 4-6 he focused on the practice of the Christian life – how we should live in Christ, in Love and Light. Part of chapter 4 focused on Unity. In chapter 5, he dealt with PURITY – in actions, words, and thoughts (vv. 3-7).
Light signifies Knowledge, and that which is good, pure, and godly. Indeed, “GOD is LIGHT and in Him is no darkness at all” (1Jh.1:5b). First, our environment has changed: We were in darkness and are now in the Light. Also, our lives have changed: We were darkness and now Light (v.8). We can and must therefore live and walk accordingly: Discovering and doing what pleases the Lord (vv. 8-10). Jesus described Himself: “I am the LIGHT of the world. He who follows Me shall noy walk in darkness, but have the LIGHT of LIFE” (Jh.8:12). In Matthew 5:14, He says of us: “You are the Light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” For light to be light, it must shine!
It’s easy to hide in the dark, not in the light! Believers should never be afraid to be examined under the Light of God’s Word. Rather, the Light of Knowledge shining in and through us, exposes the fruitless deeds of darkness, not condemnatorily, but redemptively. As people are exposed to the Light – Jesus – they will see their need, repent and turn to Christ for redemption and righteousness! While we do not walk around being critical, by our lives, we affect others positively.

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
