LIGHT FOR THE PROGRESSIVE LIFE

“The path of the just is like the SHINING SUN, that shines EVER BRIGHTER unto the perfect day”– Proverbs 4:18

For the followers of Christ, there is an ever-shining LIGHT for the PROGRESSIVE LIFE: “The path of the just is like the SHINING SUN, that shines EVER BRIGHTER unto the perfect day” (Pro.4:18). In similar vein, the Master declared: “I am the LIGHT of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the LIGHT of LIFE” (Jh.8:12). Believers in Christ are programmed for Progress – for advancement, forward movement, gradual, steady improvement or development in diverse aspects of life, without hindered or stumbling feet (v.12). Progress is vital to living. Progress is actually a sign or an evidence of Life. Stagnancy is contrary to living. It is in reality, an emblem of death.

The living move as proof of their being. The embalmed are static and still. The devil wants to stagnate as many as he can; God is determined to accelerate His own on life’s pathways. Satan tries to slow his victims down with heavy burdens, while God releases the Anointing to take away burdens and destroy yokes: “It shall come to pass in that day that his burden shall be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil” (Isa.10:27). One key function of the Light of God’s Word is to illuminate our feet and paths for divine acceleration: “Your Word is a LAMP to my feet and a LIGHT to my path” (Psa.119:105).

Light for the Progressive Life is the Bible Pattern: “They go from strength to strength; every one of them appears before God in Zion” (Psa.84:7). 2 Samuel 3:1b describes how “David grew stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker” (2Sam. 3:1). Job 17:9 says, “Yet the righteous will hold to his way, and he who has clean hands will be stronger and stronger.” The Blessing of the Lord brings Progress; it defeats stagnation. Divine progress is our portion in Christ. By His Spirit we are changed "from glory to glory" (2Cor.3:18b).

God has programmed us for all-round progress, hinged on our spiritual development: “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper IN ALL THINGS and be in health, just as your soul prospers” (3 John 2). He promised: “But you shall receive POWER when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.“ This illustrates expansion, progress, and increasing circles of influence. Anointed with the Holy Spirit, Jesus our Master and Model “went about” (progress unhindered) “doing good” (performing to full potential), and “healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38). He could not be restricted or stopped by the enemy. We who follow Him are also unstoppable from advancing and progressing in destiny’s pathways!
