Bible Meditation:
Psalm 57: 1-11

“I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfil HIS PURPOSE for me”Psalm 57:2 (New Living Translation)

Beloved, please join me to meditate and pray: LORD, let me LIVE FOR PURPOSE IN DESTINY“I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfil HIS PURPOSE for me” (Psa.57:2). God’s Purpose is eternal and established, and in a sense, we are always living in His Purpose. The sovereign God works all things, including our lives, according to His purposes. Nothing can happen without God ordaining or permitting it. However, we have a responsibility to call on Him to help us align with His Purpose.

God has numbered our days and will fulfil every purpose He has for us. But, our choices and actions are also crucial. We can choose to do things that will bring us greater sense of purpose or otherwise. Waking up feeling purposeless is incredibly frustrating; whereas living passionate, engaged, and meaningful lives will compel us to hop out of bed each morning with a spring in our steps. God doesn’t intend that we live a life of drudgery in which each day is a total drag. Although not every single day would be a parade and pageant, an overall sense of enthusiasm, joy and gladness permeates a purposeful life.

How does living in the fullness of God's purpose differ from living without purpose?

An aimless life is characterised by: blatantly living in sin and disobedience; apathy and boredom rather than joy and excitement filling one’s days, work and relationships; and lack of fulfilment in life. Fulfilment comes from engaging in rewarding and meaningful things: assignments that tap into your skills and passions; mutually-beneficial relationships; and invigorating habits and hobbies. In addition, a person that is low on purpose feels trapped in what seems like pointless work, and stuck in a frustrating rut, desiring to go in a particular direction but not knowing how to get there. Lack of purpose implies a lack of direction, a sense of aimlessness, and wandering in circles without any forward progress. Nothing excites, as there are no specific goals in view.

How then do we reclaim Purpose? Here are seven keys to regaining a sense of Purpose and discovering what God has for your life:

Turn to God in prayer: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him” (Jam.1:5). God wants to give you a purpose by bestowing His wisdom on you.

Dig into God's word: God speaks to us primarily through the Bible. In searching for His purpose, start digging into scripture to understand God’s heart: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psa.119:105).

Determine your gifts and strengths: God's purpose for you may involve the things you're already good at. Here, education is particularly valuable. It allows you to discover your gifts and determine how to use them. It also connects you with helpers of destiny.

Determine your passions. If money wasn't an issue, what would you love to do? It's often said that God works at the intersection of our gifts and our passions. Where your gifts meet your passions may be God's purpose for you – what He has called you to do.

Connect to others: “Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety” (Pro.11:14). God will help you find your purpose through others – trustworthy and wise counsellors, who have your back and want the best for you.

Take a solitude retreat: get away from it all and take some unhurried time to think, pray and document. Be still before God, ask Him for direction and listen for His voice. God always rewards those who seek Him (Heb.11:6). He's not hiding. He wants to guide you.

Trust God: you can trust God to lead you where He wants you to go – “He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake” (Psa.23:2-3).

Trust God! He will perform all things for you. He will fulfil His Purpose for you.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
