MULTIPLIED

He also blesses them, and they MULTIPLY greatly; and He does not let their cattle decrease – Psalm 107:38

God does not simply bless, He gives MULTIPLIED Blessings. When God blessed the first couple, Multiplication was a key Mandate: “…and God said to them, "Be fruitful and MULTIPLY, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over…” (Gen.1:28). To multiply means to reproduce in multiple folds. The Lord assured His friend, Abraham: “And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will MULTIPLY you exceedingly” (Gen.17:2). There is the level of Addition and another of Multiplication; but to be multiplied “exceedingly” surpasses comprehension! God desires multiplication of every good seed in our lives. There are however some aspects than are of greater eternal benefits than others.

God multiplies His Word: “But the Word of God grew and multiplied” (Acts 12:24). This in turn causes His people to multiply in number, faith, and power: “Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples MULTIPLIED GREATLY in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith” (Acts 6:7).

God multiplies Grace and Peace in our lives: “…Grace to you and peace be multiplied” (1Pet.1:2b). And again, “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord” (2Pet.1:2). Grace and Peace are two extremely vital virtues that must be at work in your life in increasing measure, for you to live an excellent life in Christ. Multiplied Grace comes through the  increasing knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

God multiplies Mercy, Peace, and Love: “Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you” (Jude 1:2). These are eternal assets that are superior to materials, possessions, and luxury – the things we often crave after. While the latter are duly important, they are not as fundamental, enduring, and life-enriching as Mercy, Peace, and Love.

God multiplies Miracles. For example, Paul’s ministry in Ephesus witnessed fresh Holy Spirit baptisms, and consistent, tenacious teaching of God’s Word (Acts 19:1-10). These resulted into unusual miracles, healings and deliverances (Acts 19:11-19). At the end, “…the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed” (v.20). Wherever the Holy Spirit has free rein and God’s Word is permitted to prevail, miracles multiply without restrain!

God multiplies Time and Life through the instrumentality of Wisdom: “For by me your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you” (Pro.9:11). It is not beyond God’s ability to prolong a person’s lifespan (Dt.6:2; Pro.10:27). He did so for King Hezekiah (2Kgs.20:6; Isa.38:5). But what is more important is for God to give you wisdom to maximize time – to make the most of life. Multiplied Time implies that you can achieve and become much more in less time.

Jesus multiplies our Seeds: “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you” (Lk.6:38). Whatever you give to God, He multiplies. If you obey His Word, you can expect Him to multiply your seeds: “Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food,  supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness” (2 Cor. 9:10). He who miraculously multiplied seven loaves and a few small fish to feed 4,000 with seven basketfuls remaining, will move miraculously for you (Mk. 8:1-9).

God wants to multiply your blessings. He can multiply His Strength in your life and make you more impactful and positively influential than you presently are. All He needs is that you release your Faith with expectation, and He’ll show up and do amazing things. He’ll bless you beyond your imagination and multiply you in every area of life. He’ll do all of these as you fill your mind, heart, and life with His knowledge. Study His Word; put it into action in your life, and see what will happen. As you surrender your life to Him, trust and obey His Holy statutes and commandments, and God will multiply your blessings.
