PASSION PUSHES THROUGH THE DOOR

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force – Mt. 11:12

Speaking in the context of Prayer, the Lord instructs that we A.S.K. – Ask, Seek, and Knock (Mt. 7:7). In a broader context, someone has said: “when you get to the door of opportunity it may not be sufficient for you to knock – you may have to PUSH.” Many believers are familiar with the slogan: ‘Pray Until Something Happens’ – P-U-S-H!

PASSION will PUSH through the DOOR of OPPORTUNITY! Enduring accomplishment and success in life are hinged on taking the INITIATIVE – being willing to PURSUE – through Prayer and Action, what you really believe God wants you to POSSESS, notwithstanding the RISK. The woman with the issue of blood pushed through the multitude with her touch of faith (Lk. 8:43-48). In the same vein, it will take passion to advance, expand and push forward the frontiers of God’s Kingdom; and to occupy till the Lord comes (Lk. 19:13)! We must take the Kingdom by the FORCE of FAITH – the POWER of PASSION (Mt. 11:12). Passion will push you beyond your comfort zone and stretch you to the boundaries and margins of your strength zone!

God trains His saints like the mother eagle trains her eaglets: “As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: so the Lord alone did lead him…” (Dt. 32:11-12). The eagle does not wait endlessly for her young to get out of the nest and fly on their own initiative. She knows that may never happen; so she pushes them out! They learn to fly, soar and fulfil their destiny by the mother eagle’s radical move. She pushes the eaglets out of their comfort zone, to the boundaries of their strength zone. Nothing of significance ever gets done within our comfort zone. Yet, we hardly ever want to move outside of this zone. Feeling safe and secure in our complacency, it seems normal to resist breaking through this zone of ease. There is also the fear of failure, of rejection, of making a false move, of doing something foolish, of faltering, or of falling flat on our faces. Your dream must be more precious to you than any of these fears.

Naturally, most people give in to complacency; but COMPLACENCY kills PASSION. It clips the eagle’s wings and keeps her from soaring, no matter how much she desires to. It demotes the eagle from her lofty heights to the plain of chickens. It sinks the potential STAR in the valley of MEDIOCRITY and average.

What door of opportunity is beckoning to you right now, and for which the witness of your spirit assents? Passion will prompt you to leave your comfort zone and cross the threshold of your doubts. Passion will not only compel you to ask, seek, and knock; it will move you to push you through the door, and get you going on the journey of life that God designed for you! So STEP OUT in bold and confident faith, TAKE the initiative, SEIZE the moment, and BELIEVE that God is with you all the way, and never look back until you WIN!
