Psalm 119: 129-135

“The entrance of Your WORDS gives LIGHT; it gives understanding to the simple” – Psalm 119:130

There is a Revelational dimension to the POWER of GOD’S WORD for IMPACT: “The entrance of Your WORDS gives LIGHT; it gives understanding to the simple” (Lk.5:5b). God's Power is revealed and experienced in His Word. Being the expression of God Himself, His Word, when understood and applied, holds immense power. This lies in the Word’s ability to reveal truth, guide, and empower Believers in Christ. Revelation is “Light” – the ability to see the Word and its implications, not just hear it! However, hearing God's Word is not enough for understanding. It's the entrance of God's Word into the heart that brings light!

God has revealed Himself in part through His creation and human conscience (Psa.19:1-6, Rom.1:20). He however chose to reveal His Love, Infinite Mercy, and Glorious Plan of Redemption through the Holy Scriptures. God, through scriptures, reveals Truth to “hungry” hearts. Revelation – the unveiling of God’s Truth through His Word – is a key aspect of His Power. Revelation brings understanding of God’s Will in specific situations. Through revelation, the Word provides comfort, correction, direction, training, and wisdom, equipping individuals to live lives pleasing to God.  Revelation strengthens Faith and makes it difficult for us to backslide; it enables a deeper understanding of God's Will; and will lead to a stronger faith and a more impactful life.

The Power of God’s Word lies in the truth it proclaims. Scripture is inspired and God-breathed; hence, useful for teaching, training and guiding in truth. The Word is the tool to reprove, convict, or rebuke so we might know and follow God’s Will: “Your Word is a lamp for my feet, and a light on my path” (Psa.119:105). God’s Word awakens us to our motives and attitudes, revealing what’s truly in our hearts and minds. The Word is “alive and active...sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” (Heb.4:12).

The words of Scripture are particularly precious for the moments when we need direction, correction, and training. The psalmist prayed: “DIRECT MY STEPS BY YOUR WORD, and let no iniquity have dominion over men” (v.133). God’s Word also brings comfort, affirming His promises and our Identity in Him. The Word of God is eternal: “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the WORD of our GOD stands forever” (Isa.40:8). In this ever-changing world, this is great news! We need the unchanging Word of God – sure, steadfast, true, and dependable. We can trust and live by His Word, for it will never pass away!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
