POWER OVER WARS

He makes WARS to CEASE to the end of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; He burns the shields with fire. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth” – Psalm 46:9 (NKJV)

Let the Lord be praised for the blessing of a new month! For us at the Kingdom Capstone Outreach Ministry (KCOM), this is our June of Perfect Peace: “You will keep in PERFECT PEACE those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You” (Isa.26:3, NKJV). We will however continue this month on our Word-Meditations on the theme of POWER!

We serve the Lord God who has the ultimate POWER OVER WARS. He who controls wars is also the only One that can cause wars to cease and thereby guarantee PEACE! Exodus 15:3 declares: “The LORD is a MAN of WAR: the LORD is His name.” Our God is a War Veteran, a Warrior who never lost a battle and never will. Jehovah is a ‘War Expert’ in all realms; He is valiant in battle on earth, on the sea and even in the heavenly. Wherever God fights, every element in creation can become His weapon, and align with His plan and purpose for Victory. Whenever God engages in battle, His enemies are practically swallowed up. Jehovah is so perfect at war that the aftermath of His battles often leave no trace of the enemy!

When the Egyptians with their outstanding military formation and prowess contended with the Israelites by the Red sea, God demonstrated His maritime military expertise. He divided the Red Sea and supernaturally constructed an expressway for His children to pass through. Alas, when the enemies of Israel ventured into the miracle-highway God created for His children, it was a different story. When they had pursued far mid-sea, their movement was seriously impeded, as the heavenly army began to dismantle the wheels of their chariots. It was too late for them to escape divine wrath as the LORD unleashed the hosts of heaven and the forces of nature against His enemies. As He brought down the water-walls, all the riders, horses and chariots ended up in the belly of the sea. The sea provided a mass burial for them; yet leaving no trace of any battle! They all sank like lead. “The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone” (Exo.15:5) – not one corpse was recovered!

As you begin this new month, any enemy of your soul – on land, under the earth, in the sea or in the heavenly realms – that is pursuing your destiny for evil or destruction shall be subdued, submerged, and swallowed without a trace. Jehovah, the Man of War is also the Prince of Peace (Isa.9:6). Beloved, by faith, hand over your battles to the LORD. Be still and know that He is God. He who causes WARS to CEASE will break the arrows, shatter the spears, burn the shields and destroy every weapon that may be fashioned against you. He will usher you into the realms of PERFECT PEACE. As we look up to the LORD concerning our cities and nations, we shall experience God’s Perfect Peace; the tumults of war shall cease in our lands in Jesus name.
