Numbers 13: 17-33

“Let us go up at once and take possession, for WE ARE WELL ABLE to overcome it”– Numbers 13:30b

The Story of the Spies that Moses sent to preview the Promised Land illustrates THE POWER of VISION and the cost of Unbelief: Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for WE ARE WELL ABLE to overcome it” But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are NOT ABLE to go up against the people, for they are stronger than us” (Num.13:30-31). God had unveiled a captivating vision of the Promised Land, where His people would thrive and flourish; one that should rekindle hope even when doubt and fear threatened to consume them. He commanded Moses to send the spies, not to confirm their fears, but to fuel their faith and footsteps (vv.17-20). Unfortunately, fear prevailed over the majority!

Vision and Positive Declarations distinguished between the ten spies who brought a bad report and the two who delivered a good report. The ‘evil’ reporters confessed that they were “NOT ABLE” (v.31). Walking by sight rather than by Faith, they saw “men of great stature” and “the giants” and that they “were like grasshoppers” in their sight and that of the enemies (v.33). Little wonder, they and their generation perished like grasshoppers in the desert! Caleb, the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun, carriers of a Faith-fueling report, confessed that they were “WELL ABLE” (v.30). They saw God as being incomparably greater and stronger than the giants; and He was so!

Like the children of Israel, as Believers in Christ, we’re not just wandering. We’re equipped with divinely-ordained visions and detailed plans in the inner-man. We have access to God’s guidance, waiting to be revealed as we open our hearts and step into the unknown by Faith. We must buckle up for a journey that will challenge our perspective, ignite our hope, and illuminate the path toward a life lived by God’s Vision. His Vision for each of us is like a personalized GPS for our soul. First, we pinpoint our current location, acknowledging where we stand on our journey. Then, we zoom in on the vibrant promise, the land flowing with milk and honey that symbolizes God’s abundant blessings. Finally, we chart the course and the unique steps He guides us to take, with whatever challenges, detours, and unexpected turns.

Without the Light of Vision, we’re left like ships adrift, vulnerable to currents of circumstances: “Where there is no vision, the people perish...” (Pro.29:18a, KJV). With clarity by the Light of Vision, we’ll discern the steps to blossom in our faith and pursue our callings purposefully! The role of Vision cannot be overstated in the life of a person, organization, church, or ministry. Not a fleeting daydream, but a divinely-inspired instrument, a God-given roadmap, a clear picture etched onto our hearts, to make us well able to overcome and possess our Promised Land.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
