Ephesians 1: 1-23

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the PURPOSE of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will: Ephesians 1:11

Purpose is the Reason for Being. Purpose is powerful. God is a God of Purpose. Nothing exists in creation by chance. Everything and everyone He created was made for a definite purpose – specific reason for being (Gen.1:26). God works all things according to His Purpose and the counsel of His Will (Eph.1:11). We were born by His purpose and for His purpose. Only in God can we discover our origin, identity, meaning, significance and destiny. The Believer in Christ is a Person of Purpose, not a casualty of creation or an accident of procreation. You are not a mistake that was made and left to be. If you have not already done so, it is prime time for you to discover and zero in on your purpose in life and begin to fulfil it.

I believe in the Primacy of Purpose! There is incredible power in a clearly defined purpose. For you to be the best God wants you to be, a purpose from which you cannot be swerved or distracted is an absolute imperative. Finding purpose in life is the key to fulfilment; and deciding to pursue it is the real begining of achievement. Purpose precedes progress. Until you settle for your purpose in life, there can be no meaningful progress. There may however be lots of action that lead nowhere; like going to sea without a compass. Purpose vitalizes your entire being as the totality of your spiritual, mental and physical energies are pooled, channelled, and concentrated towards the accomplishment of the singular end, making you an Achiever (Pro.23:18). Purpose builds morale; reduces frustration; creates concentration; and attracts positive partnership!

Jesus is our Model of Purpose. In the Volume of the Book, He discovered and declared His purpose: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppresed” (Lk. 4:18). He knew why and to whom He was sent. Do you know to whom and what God has sent you to do on earth? Have you defined and found what He has anointed you to do? Again, He says: “...I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (Jh.10:10b). Why have you come into the world? What is your chief assignment here? John the Beloved also wrote: “...For this PURPOSE the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil” (1Jh.3:8).

Life without Purpose is a burden, a disaster going to happen. A purposeless life is indecisive and unstable (Jam.1:8). The starting point for any life or venture is the question, “Why do I exist?” Purpose gives direction and orientation for living; it overrules confusion. Enduring decisions and choices stem from purpose; strong lasting lives and institutions are built on it. However, life is about letting God use you for His purposes, not you using Him for your own devices (Pro.19:21). “And we KNOW that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to HIS PURPOSE” (Rom.8:28).

You are a Person of Purpose. God built in you the capacity to discover and fulfil purpose. Understand what He sent you to do. Be precise in your purpose. Be focused and diligent to excel in your business, not another’s (Pro.22:19). May you not get to eternity only to find out that you spent all your life fulfilling other people’s expectations rather than God’s!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
