Bible Meditation:
Philippians 3: 1-15

I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ JesusPhilippians 3:14

PURSUIT is living for a cause with all you’ve got, believing in that purpose and giving it all it takes. God was David’s number One desire, and He became the target of his pursuit: As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God (Psa.42:1). The “prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” was Paul’s passion, and he pressed in pursuit of it! Men rarely reach for what they need, but they will always reach for what they really want! What do you really believe God wants you to possess? You must passionate press to pursue that vision! Our Commader gave the marching order: “...Occupy till I come” (Lk.19:13b). It takes pressing pursuit to extend the Kingdom’s boundaries: The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it(Lk.16:16).

Passion is the Root of Pursuit; and Pursuit is the Proof of Passion. Miracles, incredible feats, great accomplishments, and unique inventions, are offsprings of passionate desire translated into persistent pursuit. When you give room for that holy, burning desire in you to permeate and consume your thinking, talking, time, and tasks, that pressing passion will always make you – go the extra mile; push further and farther, reach a little higher, dig much deeper, or pursue really harder. Your Purpose – your reason for being – is one very invaluable asset that you must pursue. However, for there to be the pursuit of your purpose, it must have assumed the status of a burning passion and driving desire, not just mental agreement, wishful thinking, daydreaming or mere intention.

Purpose if of no value without Pursuit. Pursuit is the force that transforms your purpose into reality. Knowing where you are going is the first step, the actual pursit of it makes it a reality. In order to have a fulfilled life and destiny, there must be:

  • a pursuit of your purpose,
  • a drive for your dreams,
  • a going for your goals, and
  • a running with your vision.

For you to possess your future there must be a determined and passionate pursuit of your vision. The strength, vitality and vibrancy in your pursuit reveal the value of your purpose. The proof of Pursuit is A-C-T-I-O-N that produces tangible results.

Passion is the catalyst of Pursuit. You will pursue what you strongly desire, are passionate about, and believe God wants you to possess (Psa.37:4; Mk.11:24). What a man has passion for, he will be diligent in: Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men (Pro.22:29). A person of passion is never casual with life. Casual living is an invitation to calamity. One who takes life casually, will most likely end up a casualty in the race and battles of life. God wants us to engage in purposeful, passionate, balanced, focused, persistent, glorious, and eternally-impactful pursuits. The central question of Purpose is: What do I believe in so deeply that I am willing to commit a lifetime of time, energy and resources to make it happen?

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
