SMALL BUT SIGNIFICANT

Bible Meditation:
Job 38:4-41;
Mathew 19:13-14

“One morning we hired a boat on a lake full with trout. The scenery was enough to suck the breath out of your lungs. It made me feel so small, drifting around in that little rowboat, surrounded by soaring mountain peaks, wide blue water, and blustery winds. Like being in some vast cathedral. I felt like whispering.

I thought of Job as we drifted in the morning stillness. He, too, must have felt so small that day when the almighty came down to question him.

‘Where were you,’ God asked, ‘when I laid the foundation of the earth!... Who set its measurement…or laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?’ (Job 38:4-7).

…I thought of those words as I watched an eagle leave his nest in one of the rocky crags and sweep over our lake in search of a fish for breakfast.

Yes, the mountains, the snow, the hawks and eagles, the clouds…all have a way of making me feel so small…almost insignificant…just as Job must have felt. But before I begin to think of myself as a tiny-nothing-of-a-speck in God’s fathomless universe, there is another side of the story to consider.

I am not so small that God did not strip Himself of all His divine trappings and humble Himself to save me (Philippians 2:5-9). He became small in the eyes of the world…He became insignificant in the sight of men…for me. To lift me up!

This same God who towers around you also humbled Himself and became a man…to lift you up. Theirs is nothing small or insignificant about that.”

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
