Bible Meditation:
Psalm 46: 1-11

God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn – Psalm 46:5

God not only enables us to stand, He builds in us the FAITH to STAND STRONG THROUGH STORMS:God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn (Psa.46:5). God is Lord over all storms, but certain storms are divinely designed for our good (Rom.8:28). It would be just fine if we never had to go through any storm. However, God is more committed to our eternal character than to our temporal comfort.

Being Christians does not excuse us from life’s storms: persecution for righteousness sake, home, marital, career, health or financial challenges. Storms come with powerful winds that blow many things away and sweep people off their feet, often losing their standing. Peter revealed the purpose behind storms of trials: to prove that our faith is genuine (1Pet.1:17). Such storms are opportunities for us to grow in Christ and trust Him more. His assurance is that the storms will be over. So, for you to stand strong through the storm, you need to be faithful to God, relying on His grace, with the assurance of His protection: “When you pass through waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you…” (Isa.43:2).

Even in nature, dark clouds, flashing lighting, rumbling thunder, and raging storms precede torrents of rain. Thereafter, the rain removes oppressive heat and humidity, and brings cleansing, refreshing, newness of life, and rich blessing to the earth. Threatening tempests may actually be pointers to your Lifting! You can face life’s storms singing songs of Victory. As you soar against the winds, they’ll soon join the divine symphony. Winds find their voice not when rushing across a clear sea but when hindered by the outstretched limbs of trees. Your soul will find its richest voice and sing its boldest, best, and most commanding melodies when it is compelled to sweep across the obstacles of life.

Irrespective of the storms on life’s horizon, God will make you to ride on the realms of royalty, and to enjoy the increase of the fields, not crumbs under the table. Look away from the storms and into the serene and reassuring face of the Captain of your Salvation, Who alone is mighty to save. He will calm both the storm within you and the storms around you. He has sailed rougher seas than the one that you’re in right now! Therefore, forge ahead in faith, knowing that in full communion with the Father, allowing Jesus to live through you, and daily embracing the leading of the Holy Spirit, you can remain cool, calm, and collected in peace, regardless of any pressures. Beloved, join me in this spirit-uplifting hymn:

“When the storms of life surround me, and the world seems dark and cold, When the rain beats down upon me, and the lightning stabs my soul, I cry out to my Savior, Lord, help me, lest I die! Do You care not that the billows push my boat toward the shoal?

When the raging winds and tempest, and the noxious clouds of sin, whirl around me like an army, and my faith is wearing thin, In a whispering distant thunder, Comes a voice like morning calm: “Fear not, I am with you ever, Till the world shall see its end.

I command the winds of heaven, and the lightning does My will, I who walked upon the waters, and who bid the storm be still. I seek not your destruction, But to strengthen and make pure; Keep your faith in Me, believing I My promises fulfill.

He is greater than the thunder, He is mightier than the storm; He extends His hand to lift me, and protect my soul from harm. He will see me safe to harbor, to the haven of my rest, Sheltered by the Rock of Ages, Held in His almighty arm.”

On this Palm Sunday and going forward, may you be enabled to SMILE, SING, and STAND STRONG THROUGH STORMS!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
