Exodus 15: 20-27

“So he cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree; and when he cast it into the waters, the waters were made SWEET. There He made for them a statute and an ordinance for them. And there He tested them” – Exodus 15:25

SUPERNATURAL SUPPLY of SWEETNESS is my portion in the LORD (Exo.15:25). The Lord who sweetened the bitter waters of Marah is my God. He has more than sufficient supply of supernatural sweetness to positively transform all dimensions of my destiny!

The people of Israel had left Egypt and walked through the Red Sea, with their voices of Joy reverberating across the lands. For the first time in years, they felt like victors, like an invincible army. They thought they would never have to face adversity again because God was doing everything for them. They celebrated how God had punctured Egypt’s pride in the worst possible way, and how the waters of the Red Sea had devoured the most powerful army of the then known world. With great joy they proclaimed that God was with them and that with Him, there was nothing they could not conquer – until Marah!

Soon the season of celebration ceased and they swiftly forgot all God had accomplished for them. They had walked for just three days in the desert and were desperately thirsty. But when they got to Marah, they quickly ran to quench their thirst with the water there, only to discover that the water was bitter. Their first reaction was to blame God for what had happened, and all the people began to murmur. This was vivid evidence that they were still blind to see the One who was in control of all circumstances. Complaining never changes the situation; it only increases bitterness. Murmuring could even make what is sweet to become bitter! Every negative word one speaks makes destiny bitter. Over three and a half million people had crossed the Red Sea, and virtually all of them fell into the trap of murmuring, except Moses.

Rather than fret, Moses did what everyone should have done first – he prayed; and God showed him a branch which he was to throw into the water. As he obeyed, the water became sweet. From the perspective of Redemption, the branch is a prototype of the Cross where Jesus died. No matter how much we have drunk from the waters of bitterness on our life’s journey, through the power of the Cross, what was bitter becomes sweet. Whenever a life or a home received the revelation of the Cross, the Cross begins to absorb whatever has brought affliction, pain or sadness, and will be followed by the sweetness of resurrection. The Cross can help us to turn bitter waters into sweet fountains of faith!

The Cross – that is, Jesus and His redeeming work – must be positioned at the centre of our lives and homes. Only the Cross has the power to absorb all bitterness that entered our lives and replace them with sweetness. Jesus is willing to supply us the opposite of what the enemy tries to plant into our lives. That’s why the Lord revealed Himself to Israel at that precise moment as “Jehovah Rapha” – which means God Heals: If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and  do that which is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you” (v.26).

By the revelation of the Cross and the Resurrection, God turns all bitterness into sweetness. In Jesus name, I enjoy:

  • Spiritual and ministerial sweetness
  • Mental and emotional sweetness
  • Marital and relational sweetness
  • Physical and social sweetness
  • Material and financial sweetness.

I enjoy the sweetness of the Lord in my health; in my marriage, home, and family; in my education and career life; in my work, business, and profession; in my faith, stewardship and ministry. As the Lord sweetens my life, “May my meditation be sweet to Him; I will be glad in the LORD” (Psa.104:34).

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
