“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us” – 2 Corinthians 4:7
The Believer’s testimony is that of SURPASSING POWER in FRAIL VESSELS: "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us” (2 Cor.3:5-6). The New International Version says: "But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us” Our human frailty – "jars of clay" – serves a purpose: to highlight that the extraordinary power for performance within us comes solely from God. Our weaknesses become vessels for His Divine Strength.
Performance for God is not about personal charisma but about letting Christ shine through. Paul elevated the Message over the messenger: “For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake…” (vv.5-6). He focused on the Light of the knowledge of God's Glory, not his human talent. The Believer’s reality is that of Treasure in jars of clay (v.7). The “treasure” is the Gospel, the Holy Spirit, and the Light of Christ within us. The “earthen vessels” are our frail, mortal, and imperfect human bodies. God intentionally places priceless treasures in fragile jars to ensure that the Glory goes to Him, not the container!
Verses 8 and 9 highlight the Paradox of Power: “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed” (vv. 8-9). By virtue of God’s Power, our performance is not halted by adversity. Pressures come; but they cannot destroy us. We may lack answers, but not hope. We may be persecuted, but never left alone. We may fall, but we get back up. With the resurrection power on the inside, we can remain steadfast even in trials and afflictions, fully equipped to handle pressure. By "always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus," we allow His resurrection life to be confirmed through us (v.10).
True performance is dying to self-will and allowing Christ to live through our actions. Let’s quit struggling to be perfect or strong in self-power. In our jobs, relationships, and ministries, the focus must shift from self to Saviour, all actions pointing people to Jesus, not to our competence.
In Jesus’ Name, I affirm that:
I am a carrier of divine treasure; therefore, my life is not ordinary. The excellency of God’s Power works through me for Peak Performance.
I am filled with a Divine Capacity that far exceeds my natural limitations. I operate under open heavens, with remarkable results.
Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. I refuse to be crushed by pressure; I am standing firm in God’s Surpassing Strength.
I am a useful, effective Vessel of Honour for the Master’s use. Everywhere I go, I take the Light of Christ, and darkness is dispelled.
My life is daily renewed, and I am increasing in capacity. The life of Jesus is visible in my body, my speech, my work, and my entire life.

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
