VANITY OF LIFE OUTSIDE OF CHRIST

Bible Meditation:
Job 7: 1-10

O remember that MY LIFE IS WIND: mine eye shall no more see good – Job 7: 7

VANITY of VANITIES, saith the Preacher, VANITY of VANITIES; all is vanity – Ecclesiastes 1:2.

Outside of Christ, all of a person’s life is EMPTY and VAIN, no matter the affluence, wealth, riches, fame, fortune, possessions, position, power or popularity. Life finds meaning when you have a purpose that goes beyond this life. Life has meaning only in connection with the Creator, Genesis and Source of all being – the Almighty God!

LIVING FOR SELF – in isolation from God – is vain and futile. The Bible refers to the vanity, brevity, and frailty of life outside of Christ.
Here we meditate on the VANITY of Life: “…remember that my life is wind…” (Job 7:7). “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not” (Job 14: 1-2).

Life outside of Christ is like vapor, like empty wind, and a fleeting shadow. That is the tragic lot of “man that is born of a woman” (the natural man). It is characterized by “few days and full of trouble.”

Life outside of Christ can be described as one or more of these:
• Vanity of vanities – emptiness and meaninglessness
• A meaningless circus show
• A mere drama – comic, tragic or tragi-comic
• A fleeting dream, fantasy or nightmare
• An idle tale told by an idiot
• A hard and cruel prison experience
• A maddening marketplace
• A futile rat-race
• A sea of ceaseless tempests and storms
• An unending battle from cradle to grave

Whereas, whosoever is “born of God” is empowered to overcome the world: “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name” (John 1:12). In Christ there is VICTORY…Outside of Him is VANITY!

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for giving me Value and Victory in life in place of Vanity in Jesus name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
