Bible Meditation:
Psalm 18: 28-36

As for GOD, HIS WAY IS PERFECT; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him – Psalm 18:30

God’s Way is perfect! To Him alone belongs THE WAY OF PERFECTION:As for GOD, HIS WAY IS PERFECT; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him(Psa.18:30). No human being is perfect. No one possesses the inherent ability to live a perfect life. Yet the Bible teaches that perfection is required in order for us to have a relationship with God. Consciously or unconsciously, most people are actively, but vainly pursuing what they assume to be perfection. The only way to pursue without error or regrets is GOD’S WAY! The truth is: we will never achieve the perfection we’re looking for without God. And even when with God on His Way, we must be active, conscious, and intentional in order not to slip. He is the Standard for Perfection. Many try to seek perfectionism, but they fail miserably, because that’s not the goal!

Throughout Scripture God sets the standard of perfection (Mt.5:48). We have all sinned. God has every right to throw everyone into hell for eternity and He should. But out of His great love for us and by Mercy and Grace, He brought His perfect Son to become Perfection on our behalf. Our imperfection leads us to the gospel of Jesus Christ. In Him, our sin debt is gone and we are brought into right standing with God. We do not have to work for our salvation; it is a free gift from God (Eph.2: 8-10). It is God who changes a person; and He works in us who believe, to establish our goings on His Perfect Way, and bring forth fruit to His Glory!

“As for God, His way is perfect” – God’s way is often completely different from ours: For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isa.55: 8-9). We may think we’ve got it all together or that we’ve got the best plan, but ultimately, God’s way is the best way, and His plan for our lives is the best plan. We’ve been in His mind prior to our birth, and God knows every single circumstance, relationship, career, pursuit, joy, sadness, and love before it’s even a thought in our minds. Until we completely surrender to His will, we’re just wandering nomads.

Though in the Old Testament, we can align with David’s affirmation in Psalm 18:30. God’s Way is perfect. His Word is tried and proven. And He is a Shield or Buckler to all who trust in Him. As we move steadily toward the culmination of the year and transition into a New Year, wondering how we’ll make it through, we must remember: God is our Buckler – our Shield! All we have to do is trust God. David wrote Psalm 18 in the day that the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and specifically from Saul who was seeking him out to kill him. If the great King David could utter these words when he was on the run in the wilderness, surely we who are in Christ can claim God as our shield and buckler, too! Trusting in God, David affirmed: For You will light my lamp; the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness…It is God who arms me with strength, and MAKES MY WAY PERFECT…You enlarged my path under me, so my feet did not slip” (v.28, 32,36).

What is the basis of our blessed assurance? “…the word of the LORD is proven”! God’s Word is tried, tested, and true. It is in His Word that we find encouragement, hope, solace, succour, and faith. Proof of God’s truth is everywhere throughout the Bible. Are you wading through life feeling unsure or filled with anxiety, dejection, doubt, fear, regrets or rejection, please remember this: God’s way is perfect, and He will be your buckler if you put your trust in Him.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
