Bible Meditation:
Psalm 119: 10-19

“Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law” – Psalm 119:18

It takes divine revelation to behold the WONDERS IN GOD’S WORDS:Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law” (Psa.119:18). This is a simple but powerful prayer for spiritual illumination. Divine truth cannot be apprehended naturally, but by supernatural means. The Bible is filled with truth that can only be seen with an eye opened by the Spirit of God. It is a testimony to how God wrote a Book that He knew we could not understand without the miracle of “open eyes.” He then invites us to ask Him for that miracle! God desires that we discover wonders in His Word, but not like mere sightseeing. It demands serious searching, passionate exploration, and the Miner's mentality!

The Bible is a Wonderland! David felt sure that there were glorious things in the law: he had not half the Bible, but he prized what he had more than some men prize the whole. He was convinced that God had laid up great bounties in His Word, and he pleaded for power to perceive, appreciate, and enjoy the same. He wanted to see wonders in God’s Word the way an embattled commander wants to see reinforcements arrive or the way the marooned sailor wants to see a ship. Seeing wonders in His Word wasn’t just fanciful; it’s Life! He had prayed to not wander from God’s commandments (v.10); was already memorizing God’s Word (v.11); sharing it (v.12); and deliberately delighting in it.

Such a Lover of the Word could not miss seeing wonderful and marvellous things therein. Like the Psalmist, we must be assured that there are vast treasures in the Word which we have not yet fully seen, marvels which we have not yet beheld, mysteries which we have scarcely unveiled. The Scriptures teem with marvels. The Bible is a world of wonders! But God Himself must unveil revelation to each heart. Scripture requires opening; but the veil is not on the book, but on our hearts. We often neglect such perfect precepts, precious promises, and priceless privileges because we wander among them like blind men among the beauties of nature, and they are to us as a landscape shrouded in darkness!

The Word is “a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn and the day star arise” in our hearts (2Pet.1:19). There is no want of light in God’s Word, but there is a veil of darkness upon human hearts. If in this clear light we cannot see, the defect is not in the Word, but in ourselves. We cannot know the secret and hidden things of Scripture unless Christ opens our eyes, and He is willing: “But as it is written, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God” (1Cor.2:9-10). The light we have is not without the Word, but by the Word!

We have explored the wonders of nature: sun, moon, and stars, mountains, trees, and rivers. We have admired the wonders of art and music. It is time to behold the eternal wonders in the Bible, beginning with God Himself in all His majesty, purity, and grace; and including the wonders of redemption, the way of salvation by the crucified Saviour, the mysteries of God’s Kingdom, and the glories of the world to come. Above all, untold wonders are loaded in Him – Christ, the eternal Word who became flesh – whose name is Wonderful (Isa.9:6). Wonderful things are already in the Word, but God gives “the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him” and enlightens the eyes of our understanding (Eph.1:17). The amazing reality is that those who truly encounter the Wonders in God’s Word become Wonders to their world!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
