“Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless AT YOUR WORD I will let down the net” – Luke 5:5b
A positive response is vital to the POWER of GOD’S WORD for IMPACT to manifest: “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless AT YOUR WORD I will let down the net” (Lk.5:5b). It takes an encounter with the Word of God to become a Person of Impact in Life. If creation, the greatest even in human history, came as a result of the Word of God, the greatest Impact anyone can make in life will have to be as a result of the Word! Let’s delve deeper into Peter’s story.
Peter and his company of fishermen were already fatigued and frustrated when Jesus entered their ship and instructed them to thrust out a little from the land. After ministering to the people from Peter’s ship, the Lord instructed him: “Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a catch” (v.4b). Peter, the experienced fisherman, almost began to argue that they had toiled all night and had caught nothing. But he suddenly caught the revelation of the Power of the Word: “...nevertheless at Your Word I will...” The Word of God brings an end to profitless toiling, frustration, stagnation, and humiliation!
Even so, Peter let down his NET, whereas the Lord had commanded that they let down their NETS! This story aptly describes the situation of many Believers. The Lord has entered the ships of their lives and Lord and Saviour just as He entered Peter’s boat but, they are still frustrated because the presence of the Lord in one’s life does not automatically translate to breakthroughs. What triggers the miraculous is the attitude of reverence for and obedience to God’s Word. It is the WORD of GOD AT WORK in us that determines our WORTH in LIFE. Meaningful, Maximum Impact is a function of the Word!
The encounter that Peter had with God’s Word not only ended his life of misery, it enabled him to make God-glorifying Impact. Like Peter, we may have toiled all night in diverse streams and rivers of life and caught nothing, but if we will give heed to the Word of God, we’ll not only enclose a great multitude of fish, the kind that breaks nets, we would also need to beckon on others to come and help. We would a channel of blessings to others. Our responsibility is to get addicted to the Word of God.
The Word of God is tried, tested, and infallible. The Source of the Word is eternal; so, its effect is universal and unstoppable! If we must live impactful lives, we must be prepared to launch deep into the Word of God. It contains all we need to make maximum, meaningful, and God-glorifying Impact in life!

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
