“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I WILL GIVE YOU REST” – Matthew 11:28

Our Lord and Saviour comes with PROMISES OF DIVINE REST: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I WILL GIVE YOU REST” (Mt.11:28). These promises proffer relief from the heavy loads of life through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He invites the weary to exchange their heavy burdens for a divine partnership that brings peace to the soul; and all who "labour and are heavy laden" to come to Him, with an active, personal, and immediate promise of relief: “...and I WILL GIVE YOU REST" (v.28).

The Lord then unveils His method: “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me" (v.29). The yoke is a metaphor for apprenticeship or partnership. Being "yoked" to Jesus means working alongside Him, allowing Him to share the weight of life's burdens. He also reveals His Character: "For I am gentle and lowly in heart" (v.29). Our Lord is not a harsh taskmaster; He is accessible, compassionate, and tender. He is also the Giver of Real Rest: "...you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light" (vv.29-30). Such a Soul-Rest is a deep, spiritual, soul-level peace that transcends physical relaxation and surpasses human understanding (Phil.4:7a).

"MY PRESENCE will go with you, and I will give you REST" (Exo.33:14). This signifies ceasing from self-effort and relying on Grace: "There remains therefore a REST to the people of God. For he who has entered into HIS REST has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His" (Heb.4: 9-10). The psalms capture the essence of Divine Rest: "I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety ... He makes me to lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside the still waters" (Psa.4:8; 23:2). This is sustained through focused Trust: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in you” (Isa.26:3).

Beloved, join me as I decree, in Jesus’ Name, that:

I have entered into my era of all-round rest, where no enemy can trouble my peace; the days of struggles and anxiety are over in my life.

I receive the grace to operate from a place of peace; every burden is lifted; every of my dead, dormant, or fading dreams comes alive.

I step into a war-free zone of life from today; and begin to experience supernatural acceleration and rest.

The four winds of heaven breathe on my dry bones, bringing restoration and all-round rest in my health, family, finances, and entire life.

I will not toil in vain; my work shall produce stressless results; sleepless nights are ended, and I enjoy sweet, restful sleep from the Lord.

All satanic harassments and demonic limitations are dismantled; as I walk in the light of God's Presence and Divine Rest!
