STEPS

The STEPS of a good man are ordered by the LORD; and He delights in his way – Psalm 37:23

How wonderful it is to know that the Almighty God, the Commander of the Universe cares about every of our Steps in Life! He wants to motivate us to take the right steps at the right time and in the right direction. He knows how myopic we are in guiding our own steps in life: “O LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself; it is not in man who walks to direct his own steps” (Jer.10:23). The Lord assures that He’ll uphold us with His hand, and keep us from falling or becoming utterly cast down (v.24). He puts His laws in our hearts in order to keep our steps from sliding (v.31). Think about it: He who holds the galaxies in His hands also guides and orders the steps of your feet! That should tell you how much He loves and values you, and how important every step you take in life is to Him. Let’s consider and meditate on the testimonies of Scriptures:

• God counts and numbers your steps: “For now You number my steps...” (Job 14:16); “Does He not see my ways, and count all my steps?” (Job 31:4). There is not one step you can take outside of His omniscience. He counts. He cares.

• God will enlarge your path to establish your steps and secure them from slipping: “You enlarged my path under me; so that my feet did not slip” (2Sam.22:37; Psa.18:36). He wants to give you a sound footing and solid foundation.

• God desires to direct and order your steps: “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD; and He delights in his way” (Psa.37:23). “A man’s heart plans his way; but the LORD directs his steps” (Pro.16:9). He does not want your steps to slide: “The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide” (Psa.37:31).

• God wants to order your steps in His Word, and ensure that iniquity never has dominion over you (Psa.119:133). When you walk in His Word, “your steps will not be hindered;and when you run, you will not stumble” (Pro.4:12). You must be able to truly declare that: “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to your path” (Psa.119:105).

Your adversary – the devil – and his agents, are also negatively interested in your steps. The Psalmist said: “they mark my steps, when they wait for my life” (Psa.56:6b); and “they have prepared a net for my steps...they have dug a pit before me, into the midst of it they themselves have fallen.” (Psa.57:6). The workers of wickedness want your steps to slip, slide or stumble, but the Lord has nullified their intentions. The enemies shall be ensnared by their own nets and fall into their own pits. God will never give your feet or steps into their hands. Declare this by faith: “In the Precious name of Jesus, none of my steps in life shall slide; my steps shall neither slip nor stumble; my steps are directed, established, guided, guarded, ordered, and secured by the Lord. Walking in His Word, I take Steps of Dominion into Breakthroughs, Miracles, Victory, and Triumph!

“For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow HIS STEPS” (1 Pet. 2:21). God’s Will is for you to follow the Steps of Jesus. Although 1 Peter 2:21 refers primarily to the context of Christ’s submission, suffering, and sinless sacrifice, it could apply to other virtues. God wants your steps to be guided in His ways: to walk in grace, faith, love, light, wisdom, fear of God, righteousness, purity, in the Spirit, in truth, and newness of life. God takes Creative Steps, Faith Paces, and Strong Wise Strides. As you learn to walk in step with Him daily, in Personal Meditation and Prayers and in Corporate Fellowship of the Saints (Heb.10:25), He will direct, establish, guide, guard, and secure your steps continually: your personal and family steps, and steps in career, business, finances, and ministry.

Those who ‘mark’ or monitor your steps, hoping to see you fall, shall watch you rise and rise: “Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright; for the future of that man is peace” (Psa.37:37). Your steps shall never slip or slide in Jesus name!
