Right Words

“Learning the right words – how important that is! What we say (and how we say it) reveals a lot about who we are and what we believe…

• The right words can bring peace. The wrong words can cause war and destruction.
• The right words can bring harmony. The wrong words can cause discord and suspicion.
• The right words can bring healing. The wrong words can cause pain and sickness.
• The right words can produce love. The wrong words can spread hatred and hostility.

Words are so important, so powerful, so influential. A word can excite or a word can depress. A word can make us glad or sad or mad. Words can inspire and lift our spirits or depress and deflate our souls. Words can motivate and encourage or they can crush and kill. Words can compel us to stand firm for what is right and good and true, or they can destroy hope, blast reputations, take the wind out of our sails. Words can offer a beautiful prayer, preach a powerful sermon; or they can incite a riot, tell a dirty joke. It’s so important to learn the right words, the words of life – words that are creative, not destructive.”
