THE BEAUTY OF BREVITY

For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body – James 3:2

“…Isaiah said of our Lord, “He will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what He sees with His eyes, or decide by what He hears with His ears” (Isaiah 11:3). Jesus heard and saw many things, but He never uttered a word on His own. He said of Himself, “Whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say” (John 12:50).

WISDOM ON THE LIPS

In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise. The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth – Proverbs 10: 19-20

“It is wise to be brief, to say as little as possible to others and as much as possible to God. “Many words are meaningless” (Ecclesiastes 5:7).

Too much talk weakens our character. It’s like the continuous running of a faucet that empties a well. Talking leaves no time to commune with ourselves and with God.

LORD, GUIDE MY CHOICES AND DECISIONS

Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which TEACHETH thee to profit, which LEADETH thee by the way that thou shouldest go – Isaiah 48: 17

PROSPECTING OPPORTUNITIES IN CHALLENGES

He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap – Ecclesiastes 11: 4

“At times, we complain because of too many challenges when instead we should celebrate, for the unique opportunities they bring.

Two farmers were given a piece of land and every planted seed returned poisonous fruits. One farmer considered this a misfortune; while the other enthusiastically grew the poisonous fruits, made pesticide, sold it to other farmers to eliminate their mice plague, and made a fortune.

CREATING SPACE FOR GRACE

Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till He come and rain righteousness upon you – Hosea 10: 12

The closing days of the Year are good times to ruminate and reflect on life – the ups and downs; the successes and failures; the blessings and the lessons; the peaks and the pits; the zeniths and the zeros! It is also a proper time to commit the future to the One Who holds all of our tomorrows!

SEASON OF GIVING NOT STUFFING

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life – John 3: 16

THE REAL GIFT OF CHRISTMAS

And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh – Matthew 2:11

MEDITATING ON THE MAGNIFICAT

And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour – Luke 1: 46-47

The wonders of God! He was about to change the course of all human history; yet He occupied Himself with two obscure, humble women – one old and barren, the other young and virginal. Mary is so moved by the vision of God, the lover of the lowly, that she breaks out in song – a song that has come to be known as the Magnificat.

SEASON OF SURPRISES AND PERFORMANCE

And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord – Luke 1: 45

CHRISTMAS AND THE MIRACULOUS

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God – Luke 1: 35

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
