DEFENDED FROM DEVASTATION

For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You in a time when You may be found; surely in a flood of great waters they shall not come near him – Psalm 32:6

“A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you (Psa.91:7). God often isolates and insulates His people from calamities and disasters. He’ll divinely defend His anointed from devastation. He’ll supernaturally separate His saints for safety. He’ll target His elect for triumph. He can single you out from the crowd, for supernatural security and deliverance! There was darkness without, but the dwellings of Goshen were filled with light. There may be plague and pestilence in the world, but there shall be peace, joy, and bliss in Zion and in every regenerated heart!

True, the reality of divine defence doesn’t necessarily make the believer invulnerable or invincible. Only God is! But also true is the spiritual reality that nothing can harm us that is not in alignment with His will for our lives. As God’s children, even if we lose in the natural, our spiritual lives are eternal. Therefore we can forge ahead in faith, knowing that when we're in full communion with our Father-God, allowing Jesus to live through us, and daily embracing the leading of the Holy Spirit, then we can remain cool, calm, and collected in peace, regardless of any pressures. We can smile through the storms!

When you see the fallen world around you saturated with crime, violence, and warfare, God’s Word comes to the fore: "…but it shall not come near you"! It may be so near as to be at your side; yet not near enough to touch you. The fire can burn all around, yet the smell of it shall not pass on you. Think of the plagues of perversions, deception, decay, backsliding, corruption, worldliness, and immorality. Entire nations and regions are infected; but when you commune with God, you will not be affected by the contagion. You will hold the Truth when falsehood is the fashion.

When you are instructed, and taught by the Lord, you’ll be guided, guarded and shielded in the path of safety (Psa.32:8). As long as you maintain your faith in Jesus and live within His will, you remain under God's divine defence. Heads may be rolling in their thousands around you, causing you to imagine that you may be next in line, but by His grace, you’ll be okay, you’ll conquer, you’ll scale through – for you’ve been separated for safety and targeted for triumph! Yes, you will be guarded by His Grace and shielded by His Mercy from every form of devastation!
