THE FOCUSED LIFE (2)

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God – Hebrew 12:2

The power of focus is a key success skill for a life of fruitfulness and fulfilment. Outside of focus, there is confusion, fatigue and frustration. The benefits of focus are many and significant. Here are few:

Focus makes you to SEE what others merely OBSERVE. Revelations thrive on concentration! It takes focus to encounter unique discoveries.

Focus guarantees steady progress, speed, impact, and a maximized life. A Runner without focus is a ready-made failure, a disaster looking for where to happen. A Fighter without focus is a casualty waiting to be counted out. Paul said: I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air (1 Cor.9:26). An athlete with the eyes focused on the finishing line is a sure Winner any day!

FOCUS EMPOWERS YOU in the Race of Life. Focus enables you to endure the way of the cross, to despise the shame on the way, to persist against all odds, and to attain the heights of divine approval (Heb. 12: 2). The Master delights only in the disciple who refuses to “look back” having commenced ploughing (Lk.9: 62).

FOCUS prevents stumbling and defeats FRUSTRATION! God’s Will is that “when you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble” (Pro.4:12 NIV). The secret: “let your eyes look straight ahead; FIX YOUR GAZE directly before you (Pro.4:25). Determine never to lose focus to frustrations!

FOCUS makes you a “FINISHER” like God the Father and His Son Jesus (Gen.2:1-2; Jh.19:30). The scriptures also testify that Paul the apostle was a man of focus; a man of “this one thing” (Phil.3 13). Focus made him a finisher per excellence. His final testimony: I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith (2 Tim.4:7). Those are the words of a man of God without regrets!
