Psalm 46: 1-11

GOD is our REFUGE and strength, a very present help in trouble – Psalm 46:1

The Psalmist sang, “I will say of the LORD, He is my REFUGE…in Him I will trust” (Psa.91:2). Collectively, God is OUR REFUGE. But if you trust Him as your Lord and personal Saviour, if choose to belong to Him, the Most High God will be YOUR REFUGE and very present help. A Refuge is a hiding place especially when troubles threaten or trials trail. For the believer in Christ, there is no better or more secure hiding place than the Presence of Almighty God; so He’ll be your abiding Refuge and Strength (v.1). Let this be your faith-confession: “The LORD is the Rock of my REFUGE” (Psa. 94:22).

Hiding does not necessarily indicate fear or cowardice. Hiding can actually be a divine strategy. A brave person can hide by divine instruction. There are scenarios in Scriptures, where God instructed men of valour to go into hiding. After Elijah had prophesied the season of “no rain” upon the land, God instructed him to go and hide (1Kgs.17:1-3). The angel of the Lord instructed Joseph in a dream to take the baby Jesus and Mary the mother and flee from Herod, the marauding destroyer (Mt.2:13-14). As he obeyed God, destinies were preserved, and the rest of the works of redemption accomplished.

There are moments when you have to learn to hide, but hide in the right place – in God – your Refuge! When God tells you to go and hide, it may mean that He wants to take over your life’s battle; the battles are no longer yours, but His! When God starts to fight, you must leave the scene or fade into the background. If God asks you to hide so that He can fight for you, you better quickly hide in Him. When you hide underneath the Name of Jesus, nobody and nothing can touch or harm you. Why? Because the name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runs into it, and is safe” (Pro.18:10).

Are you passing through troubled times, facing tough challenges, or experiencing heartache and pain in your career, home, marriage or ministry? Don’t give to depression. Don’t give up to defeat. Your Refuge is ever-ready to protect and defend you. But you need not wait till troubles come before you RUN into your REFUGE and REST on the ROCK! You can be sure that the righteousness of God will keep and defend you from the onslaught of the diabolical, evil, and wicked world. Then you can declare with the audacity of faith: “The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our REFUGE” (Psa.46: 7,11).

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
