GOOD GIFTS

EVERY GOOD GIFT and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning – James 1:17 (NKJV)

God is the Ultimate Source and Giver of Every GOOD GIFT (Jam.1:17). His resources are inexhaustible. Our God of Grace and Mercy never hoards even the best of His gifts from the worst of us His creatures! God gave sinful humanity His Best – first, His own Son, and then His Holy Spirit, freely: “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” (Rom.8:32). “If you then, being evil, know how to give GOOD GIFTS to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” (Lk.11:13).

God gave us His Spirit, among other purposes, that we may “know the things that have been freely given to us” (1Cor.2:12). Life is only worth living when we truly discover, develop, deploy and demonstrate His good gifts in us. Although His gifts are freely given, they are priceless and precious, not picked up on the dunghill or carelessly strewn like pearls in the pigsty. From the beginning, humankind has literally sat on a gold mine of immense resources and treasures. God never tried to keep the wealth of the earth buried away from man, but kept for him. Every real treasure is hidden beneath and must be dug up for all its worth. But, many avoid the challenge and adventure of discovering the gold in them – God’s Good Gifts.

Every human being and indeed every Believer in Christ possesses enormous potential within, waiting to be harnessed, and greatness waiting idly to be summoned. Gifts are God’s equipping on the Pathway to Glory: “A man's gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men” (Pro.18:16). Beloved, there is genius in you, to be discovered and deployed. You have something in you that the world needs. Take time to discover it in God (2 Kgs.4:1-2). You have received God’s good gifts so that you may manifest as an asset to your generation and a Gift of the Most High God to humanity and eternity!

Treasures in crude form are buried deep in the earth, and deep within your heart! You have the responsibility to dig them up, process, polish, and prosper and profit by them. Stir up God’s gifts in you (2Tim.1:6). Learn how to mine, measure, manage, maximize, multiply and market your God-given gifts for His Glory and the benefit of His creation and His Kingdom. The potential you have in your life is God’s gift to you. What you make of your potential is your gift to God. Whatever is your gift, talent or potential is a seed of glory, given to fill your earth with His Glory! When you use your gifts to realize your God-given vision or purpose, you are manifesting glory. God’s good gifts will take you places and bring Him Glory!
