POWER OF GOD’S WORD FOR IMPACT (7)

“Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who WALK in the LAW of the LORD!” – Psalm 119:1

There is a legal and dominion dimension to the POWER of GOD’S WORD for IMPACT: “Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who WALK in the LAW of the LORD!” (Psa.119:1). The Word of God is the LAW of the LORD – the Law of the Supernatural world, which governs everything in the natural world. God’s Word is severally described as His: Law (v.1); Testimonies (v.2); Ways (v.3), Precepts (v.4); Statutes (v.5); Commandments (v.6); and Judgements (v.7). Psalm 1:2 uses this same term: “But his delight is in the LAW of the Lord, and in His LAW he meditates day and night.” All natural laws bow to the Law of the Lord!

The Lord instructed Joshua: “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (Jos.1:8). The Law of the Lord has the power to oppose or terminate permanently other prevailing laws.

God’s Word to Sarah terminated the laws of barrenness that held her and Abraham down for twenty-five years (Gen. 21:1-7).

God’s Word that came to Israel at Mount Kadesh-Barnea, terminated the law of meandering and moving around in circles that wasted the nation of Israel for thirty-eight years in the wilderness (Dt.1: 6-7; 2: 2-3; 14).

God’s Word that came to Mary overruled the natural laws of conception and child-bearing: “Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to YOUR WORD” (Lk.1:38).

God’s Word that came to Peter annulled the law of profitless toiling and struggling without results, and ushered him into his net-breaking, ship-sinking breakthroughs in life: “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless AT YOUR WORD I will let down the net...” (Lk.5: 5-11).

God’s Word that came to the paralytic man at Bethesda terminated the paralysis of thirty-eight years that almost wrecked and ruined his destiny. What he could not do in thirty-eight years, he was empowered to do in thirty-eight seconds. The bed that carried him for thirty-eight years, he carried in thirty-eight seconds (Jh.5: 7-9).

There is no regulatory law of the natural world that will not submit to the Supernatural Law of the Word of God. By His Word, all things were created (Col.1: 16-18). Since the creatures cannot be greater than the Creator, all things therefore must submit, surrender, and bow down to the Word. The Law of the Lord – the Word of God – therefore overrules all other laws, decisions, verdicts, judgements, and conclusions in the natural world. God’s new Creations exercise Dominion by the Law of the Word!
