POWER FOR PERFORMANCE (3)

“And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light” – Genesis 1: 2b-3

The operations of the Spirt of God and His Word in Creation present a Divine Blueprint of POWER for PERFORMANCE: “And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light” (Gen.1: 2b-3). In the beginning, the earth was “without form and void” – a scene of chaos, darkness, and stagnation. Many individuals find themselves in similar “seasons of void” – where efforts yield nothing and darkness seems to drown their dreams. Our meditation passage reveals that performance – bringing order out of chaos – requires two catalysts: The Incubation of Spirit and The Activation of the Word. This is the Divine Design for Results!

Before a word was spoken, the Spirit was present: “And the Spirit of God moved upon...” (v.2b). The Spirit "hovers" or "broods” – generating the atmosphere and the power necessary for change. Without the Incubation of the Holy Spirit, all human efforts are mere toil. Power was present in verse 2, but performance happened in verse 3. God’s Word is the “activator” and trigger. When the Word is released into an atmosphere charged by the Spirit, ‘formlessness’ must give way to ‘formation’: “Then God said, “Let there be light: and there was light” (v.3).

The first lesson for us as Believers is to always acknowledge the Holy Spirit first. Rather than rush into action, let’s learn to spend time in prayer and fellowship with the Spirit – the "hovering" phase; allowing Him settle over our situation before we attempt to fix it. Next, is to speak our Script, not our Circumstance. God didn’t describe the darkness; He commanded the light! To see divine performance in our lives, we must stop complaining about the “void” and start speaking the Word of God over it. Ultimately, Real Success is a partnership: The Spirit provides the Energy, and the Word provides the Instruction. Our daily walk must balance both deep prayer (Spirit) and deep study (Word).

In Jesus’ Name, I declare that:

I am empowered by the Holy Spirit for extraordinary performance. Every area of chaos and void in my life is receiving divine order right now.

As I speak the Word, the Spirit of God backs my voice with positive results. I move from stagnation to manifestation by the Power of God.

My life is a reflection of divine beauty and structure, not confusion. The same Spirit that moved over the deep is moving over my entire life.

Darkness cannot stay where I am, for I carry the Light of the Word. I have the Wisdom of the Creator to solve every complex problem.

By God’s Spirit and Word, I will never labour in vain; my efforts are multiplied by Grace. I shall see the tangible fruit of my faith and words.
